Keep it secret. Keep it safe.
I have this Sony Travel Pouch and it has served me well.
Sony's off and on about whether or not they'll support the system (one chap saying it's a "Legacy" platform while another says they have 1st party content in the works). That said it's still a powerful system and several 3rd party developers with great reputations who continue popping out releases for it like Koei Tecmo (Atelier, Samurai Warriors, and Toukiden are fair examples). Whether or not it's worthwhile however is largely up to you.
Do you like RPGs, Monster Hunter-likes, and Final Fantasy? Do you own a Play Station (you can stream PS4/3 titles across your home to play any game granted an internet connection)? Do you want to conserve the battery on your mobile device with a game that's probably a much more in-depth experience or are you content with Fallout Shelter?
Consider the above, though if I am to throw in an extra bone buy one of these (though not necessarily this one in particular just make sure it's got some kind of loop or hole in the case so you may attach it to something with a sturdy carabiner.). I actually use mine for my phone and other stuff too and it's quite convenient.

I was just looking for something similar except for a Nyko grip.
In your case, maybe this would work (not sure how big the hori remote play assist grip is but I'm guessing its probably too big for this): amazon link
In my case, I might try out a mini tablet sleeve/pouch like this (might work for u too): ebay link
I like this one, it can fit the Vita, charger and a few games.
It also comes in white:
I've been using this:
There's plenty of room for my headphones and my game case (this http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-Card-Case/dp/B006JKARPS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438064848&sr=8-1&keywords=vita+game+case )
I bought this case and it is big enough for my 2000 with a silicone skin on, you can also fit games and the charger all at the same time. This screen protector works great and doesn't change the colors, or make it look grainy. You could buy a protector that fits the back touch screen but I just bought a cheap screen protector for phones, cut it and placed it there. And this case to hold games is smaller than the Sony brand one.
I use the official travel pouch cause it looks pretty nice, I have a clear plastic shell on my vita to protect it from being thrown around while in the pouch, and the pouch protects it from scratches. I even fit the entire charging cable in it from time to time as well so its good at holding stuff. It is a pouch I guess.
EDIT: Here is the case I use. Never got a scratch in 3 years.
I use this case and this shell and this screen protector because I'm a paranoid old man.
My first vita I didn't bother with protecting it until a nice big scratch showed up right down the middle of the screen. I could only assume it was from the USB cable that it was pocketed with at the time. It was deep enough to see even when the screen was on so I was crushed. But then it had a battery failure when it was less than a year old so I sent it in to Sony and they sent me a replacement Vita. Now I do all this and haven't had an issue since.
I own this and I find it's a good compromise between bulk and protection.
