Depends what you are heating but you can always get a power inverter for your truck that can handle whatever electric appliance you want like toaster ovens, microwaves, electric griddles. Also those jump starter battery packs with AC outlets but I don't know if they would run a heating appliance.
Similar to your #3 but less portable are butane stoves. They're about 12 x 16 x 4 inches and can probably do anything you would normally do on a stove top. Not sure if that's what you had in mind as backpacking stoves are usually tiny.
Does this mean something like this won't be allowed? Is butane a flammable liquid? Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I don't want to bring a huge grill for just my friend and I.
I hope its new kids on the block because I was just watching wahlburgers :D
Keep calm and fan girl on on take a trip to wahlburgers with me!
If I win Id love this camping stove. thanks for the contest
I find the portable butane burners to be unbearably under powered and the butane canisters seem to get used up really quickly.
I would go with a propane cooktop that you can hook a 20lb propane tank up to. And find a place you can fill the propane tank, instead of exchanging it. It's often like 1/2 the cost to refill.
EDIT: One of these would be even more fun.
You could try out one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Butane-Stove-Camping-Burner/dp/B000RA8V1S
Just wanted to say you don't have to give up heat. If you pick up a simple camping butane stove you can have fresh omelets, hot noodles, grilled cheese, whatever. This wouldn't work for most jobs, but it could work wonderfully for you. Bring a little cooler with your prepped ingredients and you're in business.
