Not necessarily wrong, but not PC made either. This one looks to be made by them - https://www.amazon.com/PORTER-CABLE-42975-8-Inch-Router-Collet/dp/B00004TRA4/ref=sr_1_5?
You may need to hand tighten the collet up until it resists, in order to have it grip the bit.
