The fusion pro controller. Makes playing games like this so much more enjoyable. Highly recommend. PowerA Fusion Pro Wired Controller for Xbox One - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XQXQMR9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_uoO0Fb1DBV22W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Came here to say this. I have gone through 4 Elite controllers and recently got a PowerA FUSION and love it. It is a wired controller but has a super high-quality, long cord that snaps in so won't disconnect.
I use this one. The sticks and buttons feel really good. It's wired but that shouldn't be a problem if it's exclusively for PC
Console player as well. Helps make up for the lack of FOV adjustments on console.
For anyone running on Xbox that wants a really solid controller that doesn’t cost SCUFF or Elite prices this is what I’m using and it’s been a game changer as well
I turned my sens up, but not a whole lot. For what it’s worth my settings are
Vertical: 40 Horizontal: 70 Ads: ~25 depending on the magnification
I’ve been on those settings for almost two years now and haven’t changed them.
I use this controller which has the extended thumb stick and paddles on the back. But it’s not wireless
This is the controller that I use on my PC: PowerA Fusion Pro Wired Controller for Xbox One. It's essentially a cheaper (and better made, amazingly) Xbox One Elite Controller but without the interchangeable D-Pad. Large, weighty, responsive, and customizable (I don't use the backplate, but to each their own).
4.5 stars. Highly recommended.
Third party controllers often have this issue unfortunately. The audio mic portion just isn't as good as the official controllers so you end up with this issue. I would also say in general the enhanced Powera isn't a very reliable controller. The buttons can break and the controllers often develop drift. You have a pretty decent length warranty so you can send it to back to them but the replacement ones I got exhibited the same issues soon enough. In the future I would stay away from the base models. Although the fusion pro is made with better materials and is less prone to issues.

This one is just like an elite but way cheaper and it’s also on sale for $20 off now! Even better deal.
It’s wired but the wire is long. Has paddles.

I’ve owned the elite 1 and 2 and this one. Near identical except if the power a break you only lost $50
Power a makes one that is wired but rather nice. It’s cheaper also. Well if you don’t mind wired remotes (I personally love the fact they never die) the PowerA fusion pro provides most of the elite features at the fraction of the cost. It has programmable paddle attachments (paddle mount can be removed), trigger locks to reduce the force necessary to pull trigger, two different interchangeable thumb sticks (one concave , one rounded ) , friction rings (for around the joysticks) all in all a very smooth remote controller

Looks like it's still $61.
I have to rate it 10/10. It's usually $90 or $80 and just as good as the Xbox Elite in almost every way.
Removable taller stick you can use if you want, short-trigger stops that are actually the right height, really comfortable pack pedals (even though I have big hands) - perfect for small/medium hands, but big hands they work fine too. You can just attach two if you want instead of 4

this is the controller i use. i love it
edit: nvm you wana walk in and buy one... sorry
If you don't mind a wired controller the PowerA Pro Xbox controller works well. It has been great for me on PC. There's a cheaper PowerA option that I haven't tried. https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Fusion-Pro-Wired-Controller-Xbox/dp/B07XQXQMR9/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=powera+xbox+one+controller&qid=1594857129&sprefix=powera+&sr=8-2
Glad to see a list like this. I have a Secret Lab chair that reclines and sometimes I just want to lean back and play a controller game at my desk. Just seems more relaxing after a stressful day. Picked up this controller for my Christmas present and can highly recommend it so far, it's very weighty and nice rubber grip finish, doesn't feel cheap and is a nice alternative to the Elite controllers.

I love this thing. It has up to 4 paddles on the back and comes with multiple thumb sticks with varying heights also.

Something like this, its like an Elite but its wired.
I play on PC with an xbox controller and never got the issue, so must be a PS4 controller issue.
I have had issues in the past with PS4 controllers disconnecting as though its lost bluetooth connection but I was using it wired.
It could have been the cable, or something else?
I have never had any issue with my Xbox controller.

Its like an elite but wired.
I've bought a PowerA wired controller for xbox and it's a little better, I can play consistently now. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XQXQMR9/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_GGMWN5FS0XF0NGG63EBB
I bought these (on offer though).
There could be issues with the Bluetooth hardware or software.
I tend to avoid using any Bluetooth or WIFI.
I used to use a PS4 controller on PC, it would work most of the time
Sometimes it would freak out as if the battery had died even though it was plugged in using a USB cable.
In the end I ended up using this controller
https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Fusion-Pro-Wired-Controller-Xbox/dp/B07XQXQMR9
It a PC / Xbox controller.
It comes with a decent USB cable and no Bluetooth.
Its heavier than a PlayStation controller but I prefer that.
It works perfect in Windows, no extra third party software is needed.
It is very similar to the Xbox Elite controller but as good as they are, they require battery's.

If you want to save some money, I’ve been pretty happy with the Fusion Pro. It’s better than their base controllers and has like a 2 year warranty.

Been using this for over a year. Works perfect and not a single issue. After I went through 2 elites im never spending that much again. It is wired though.

Are you talking about this one? I was also thinking of checking one out.

For a specific example, I use the PowerA Fusion Pro Xbox One Controller. Its essentially the XB1 Elite controller but cheaper and wired. Its fairly big and really hefty but works like a charm.
what is your limit on price because the power xbox elite controller is really good rated controller. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fusion-Pro-Wired-Controller-Xbox/dp/B07XQXQMR9/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=xbox+controller&qid=1613989584&sr=8-9. Some pros and content creators use the one of the best controller called eswap pro which cost an awful lot which is ~130 pounds. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fusion-Pro-Wired-Controller-Xbox/dp/B07XQXQMR9/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=xbox+controller&qid=1613989584&sr=8-9 but maybe on other shopping websites it will be cheaper. I am no expert but those to controller if you want some of the best that you can get one of these two as they are amazing. btw i don't have either of them but i know they are top controllers (promise) (sort of but i sure of it tho). either way you r great at rocket league and i hope you have a great day!

Same, I ended up with stick drift on my gen 1. I bought one of these and never looked back, haven’t had any issues.

If you're running out of power shooting.....
I think you need to make sure you swap power to weapons a second before you start firing.
Having overcharge is REALLY important in your leading attack, and preferably a full overcharge weapon meter, because every shot of overcharged lasers is +25% dmg
Otherwise, you're going to need to get your aim fixed. Maybe play with flight stick deadzone/sensitivity settings. Frankly, I gave up on playing HOTAS (I have a HOTAS X which is very similar to yours) and using my wired Elite style controller knockoff instead
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XQXQMR9/
The bottom paddles alleviate the biggest issue of gamepad playing, that being having to take control away from flight control for a few actions.
Oh yeah, and I also recommend swapping to Pitch&Yaw together for aiming. I still roll a lot for flight maneuvers but aiming is done with pitch and yaw
Here is a cheaper option for a elite controller.

check out the Power A Fusion Pro controller. I didn't want to invest in the Elite 2 seeing all the stick drift and button issues so I bought this one. Has been working great and easy to configure. The cable bothered at first but only cause I'm used to wireless. Using it mainly for Warzone with the paddles and can easily detach the rear paddles. https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Fusion-Pro-Wired-Controller-Xbox/dp/B07XQXQMR9/ref=sr_1_4?crid=15YJHOZLX1Q2X&dchild=1&keywords=powera+xbox+1+controller&qid=1606180413&sprefix=power+a+xbox%2Caps%2C237&sr=8-4

They are wired, but PowerA makes some. I bought the Fusion Pro last month. Amazon has them $20 off right now as PowerA just released a new version. Only difference is that the new one has a thumbwheel headphones volume control\mute button.
Some of their other controllers have one pair of buttons. This has two pairs of paddles.
All are fully programmable.
