When I went through my district's PBL training, we used this book.

I found it useful, in that it has a lot of hands on "do this, then this", type things. I found it worth the money they spent on it.

Also, you might want to read about how the New Tech Network works, as they are a school-within-a-school model that uses PBL exclusively.
