Just going to throw this out there. I use tactical pants for work and I have 3 of the 4 major brands. I buy the 65p/35c blend "lightweight tactical" series' of pants. All of the major brands come in typical colors such as Khaki, Coyote Brown, Black and OD Green. Here are my thoughts:
Tru-Spec is around $32 for a pair. They run a bit big (baggy legs) so it would be annoying to wear with kneepads. Additionally, the smaller cargo pockets are mounted low on top of the bigger pockets. This is a poor design of you need to use these smaller pockets. You get what you pay for.
5.11 is the best I own. They have a thin leg profile, perfectly placed pockets and the pocket designs all account for wearing vests and droplegs. The downside is they are $50 and the most expensive of the pants I've bought.
Propper is my favorite - more than the 5.11. They are only $40, have nearly the same pocket layout (it's missing a hidden spare mag pocket), and come with a free color-matched web belt. They are the best value by far. They are just as comfortable, the build quality is the same as 5.11, and the belt is super-handy if you don't have one already.
I do not own a pair of BLACKHAWK! pants. If I plan on buying additional sets, they will be Proppers, as the value is too good to pass up.
When you can, go buy some summer weight (rip-stop) BDU pants, like this: https://www.amazon.com/Propper-Mens-Lightweight-Tactical-Pant/dp/B00DCJPDPI Lighter, tougher, and so much more comfortable than jeans.
I've used the Propper Lightweight Tactical Pants for around five years and they have done really well. You can buy them on Amazon and they come in a variety of colors.
