You can probably get something like this and attach it your roof.

That still leaves you 6-8dBi of actual gain in the system, without resorting to amplifiers (which can be a perfectly fine solution, but are just a pain in the arse, dealing with power injectors and whatnot).
The other important thing is coax sealing tape for anything that's outside. It's a soft and waxy flexible strip that you just mush onto the connector to make a watertight seal.
