PS3 Ear Force PX21 Gaming Headset https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002BU0DPE/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_d3-.vbPFVQYQ4
Great condition. It has a USB and audio cord so I don't see why not but I can't guarantee since I used it with PS3 and PC.
Condition: little to no wear, I have timestamps but there are slightly outdated (1&half week)
Those things are cheap, you can either buy a new for about $20, or pay up front for a good one. I've been using the Turtle Beach PX21 forever now, it works on the 360, PC, Mac, and PS3, so you never have to switch, it's quite nice and would recommend buying it if you can.
I may not play pc games, but i know a good headset for 60 dollars. The turtle beach px21, its universal (pc, ps3, 360) and it has great sound quality and chat
The Turtle Beach PX21's work with a 360, Mac, PS3 and PC. Their not the cheapest (around $60), but I use them with my 360 and Mac and they work great for each. You most likely will not find a cheaper option (unless someone else can chime in here).
Copied from the other thread: I use the Turtle Beach PX21s for PS3. I wanted a good headset but I didn't want to have to refinance my house to afford it. So $65 was definitely a good investment. I love them. The mic can pick up a cat fart in the other room so you don't really need it a millimeter from your mouth which is nice. The cord it comes with is incredibly long which is also a plus. Sometimes I do wish I had a wireless set but when I bought these last year it just didn't seem worth the money. These are worth every penny I spent.
EDIT: Another thing I love about them is it has a chat volume button on the control box attached to the wire. So when I enter a Ground War lobby I turn it all the way down until I can mute everyone. My ears thank me for it.

REVISED LIST (based off of your build)
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
This budget is...acceptable. A few notes:
I added more RAM. Is this neccesary? Usually I have Steam, Skype, Winamp, and about 10 tabs of Chrome open with about 10 extensions. I heard Chrome is tough on memory, but I'm not sure if this is overdoing it.
I added an optical drive for the operating system. To me, it's just worth it for the ease of use and not having to find an ISO. Yes, I know it's probably very easy, but I'm sticking with the disc.
I changed my operating system to Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm more familiar with it, it has more support, and it's ever so slightly cheaper. However, if there is a case to be made for another version of Windows, I'm interested.
I went with your choice of headset, after locating it on Amazon. Thanks for the suggestion.
I chose a Logitech K120 keyboard. If you have any thoughts on it one way or the other, go ahead.
I dropped the SSD as suggested. More expensive for less than 20% of the space? I don't care if my boot takes 10 seconds longer, no thank you.
What about this monitor makes it worth spending ~50 dollars more for against the other monitor that I had in my original build?
My previous one merchant of only Amazon has been increased slightly to two to include Newegg. Any thoughts on merchants?
Thanks for sticking through this with me!
why?
cause they are fucking winsauce awesome
I started out with a cheap ($17) Bluetooth headset from meritline.com. That worked fine for me for a while -- very lightweight. I could talk to people, and hear them talking which was the goal. Games sounds from the TV speakers.
Then for my birthday, the wife and kids got me a nice headset -- this one I think. I was amazed at how much better the game sounded. Wired, but the cord is nice and long, so that's not an issue. Over all, very happy with it.
I use the Turtle Beach PX21's. I use them for both in game use as well as recording commentaries for YouTube. Excellent headset and extremely affordable. It's actually on sale right now on Amazon at a STEAL of $39.99. There is only one left in stock, however! Don't count on it. You could get a nice headset for about $50 instead.
Have you still got the little fluffy thing on the microphone, if it has one, because that can be a huge factor. Also try moving the mic further away from your mouth or closer, like I said; just run a lot of tests and try recording by yourself to see what works best.
I use this Turtle Beach, it's a universal headset so if you want to use it for 360/ps3 then you can.
