hijacking your comment to link the piercing pillow I got for myself. It’s a little on the pricier side, but if you can swing it, it’s worth every penny. I was sleeping in pain (10 piercings on each ear) for four odd years before I bit the bullet and got the pillow. I sleep like a baby every night now :)

OP get this pillow. My tinnitus in my left ear only arises when I go to sleep. The second I go on my left side it starts. This pillow will greatly reduce it and is actually extremely comfortable. Even if your tinnitus is an all day constant thing, I think it would help to give your ear a rest at nighttime.
I have 10 fully healed piercings on each ear and I sleep with them in every night. This piercing pillow changed my life. I honestly didn’t realize how uncomfortable sleeping was (I thought I slept fine) until I got this pillow. I sleep like a baby now, and my piercings haven’t been fussy with me at all in the two years I’ve had it.
As other replies have said, flat back labrets and properly-sized jewelry (especially hoops!) can make a big difference! But this pillow was the key for me. I hope you find something that works for you!

I've probably bought 10 pillows in the last year and this is the only one that has helped me to sleep.

Love the look! I agree with others in this thread that five in one sitting is a bit much. That being said, I’ve gotten 3-4 in one sitting multiple times and the never had any significant issues (normal heal time, no bumps, etc). I have 10 nicely healed piercings on each ear now. I would, however, STRONGLY recommend getting a piercing pillow for the setup you’re planning, if you don’t have one already. This is the one I have and I wish I got it 5 years ago. I think your plan of getting 1, 3, and 5 at once and then getting 2 and 4 if you can accommodate them is a good idea :)
If I were getting that setup, I would not get pierced with 1.5mm ends initially. I’d get pierced with whatever my piercer thinks is best (doing odd-numbered piercings first, as you described), then when those are nice and healed up, I’d change their jewelry to whatever best could accommodate the new even-numbered piercings with their respective starter jewelry (even if it’s not what I plan to keep in there long-term). Then once everything’s pierced and healed, change it to whatever you want! I’ve worn 1.5mm ends on healed piercings before and it was a-ok, but since they’re so tiny I’d be worried about them irritating a new piercing or even getting pulled through / eaten up by a bump.
Hope some of this helps! At the end of the day, just get a good piercer that you trust and listen to them. It’ll look amazing once it’s done, just be ready to be patient :)
It was this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CQ9468V?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Well, I think the reason it works on me is because I have the tinnitus primarily in one ear. As long as I sleep with the bad ear pointed upward, I can have my sound blocker on and kind of drown it out.
My issue was that at night it would jump or rather sort of vibrate over to the good ear when it was pressed into the pillow. Which sucks, because even though I could technically sleep on my back, I like to sleep on my side. The ear hole prevents it from smashing or crushing my other ear. I think that allows some airflow and circulation and stops it from vibrating over. I also have gone through a lot of pillows because I get neck pain a lot too. This one actually supports my neck .
That being said, I'm sure how well it will work on people who have ringing in both ears.
