I went through the codecademy's python course first and now I am starting with automate the boring stuff.
Another good book (or at least the first 12 chapters) you might want to look at is Python Programming for Raspberry Pi, Sams Teach Yourself in 24 Hours
I'm on chapter 12 right now, but the way the material is taught is pretty good, it hasn't bored me. The only reason I haven't finished it yet is because I decided to power through codecademy and then I started doing the little games on checkio.org
