I just had a remediator come by and tear out my now-moldy carpet, going to replace it with vinyl plank flooring which should handle the water better. Also looking at beefing up the weather-stripping on my walkout basement door (or maybe I'll just replace the door entirely).

BTW what kind of door frame floodgate did you buy? I was thinking of buying a Quick Dam but your solution sounds like it might be a better fit.
