Hi guys,
I hope this hasn't been posted 1000s of times here haha but I got refered to Keto by a friend I know from online who lost over 20kg in total using this diet. Didn't really want to keep pestering him if I'm honest but I just wondered how you all got started?
I've read some articles and watched some videos but I'm a bit unsure how to begin if I'm honest, how do I monitor every single carb taken, protein eaten and my fat intake? I understand it's a low carb high fat diet but yeah just a bit unsure how this can be monitored.
Out of interest could anyone suggest anything theyve used to make the process easier? I just brought this book from Amazon to help out.
Quick Keto Meals in 30 Minutes or Less: 100 Easy Prep-and-Cook Low-Carb Recipes for Maximum Weight Loss and Improved Health https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1592337619/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YmBnCbXAXTG52
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I checked this one out from the library and really like it. Quick Keto Meals in 30 Minutes or Less: 100 Easy Prep-and-Cook Low-Carb Recipes for Maximum Weight Loss and Improved Health https://www.amazon.com/dp/1592337619/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ngSvAbRN6CKV8
Definitely recommend using the library to try cookbooks out before you buy, if that’s possible for you.
This book helped me on start https://www.amazon.co.uk/Quick-Meals-Minutes-Prep-Cook/dp/1592337619
I often cook main meaty part keto and different sides for me and kids. You have pressure cooker. Try balsamic beef from ibreathehungry. Bbq pulled pork from keto diet app blog. Keto is not limited, you just need twist with recipes.
I make a lot of salads for lunch to keep it simple and just change the protein depending on what I have on hand but quite often it’s leftover chicken from a roast in a bag roast chicken (total life saver if you can’t cook). I like to cook so I’ll mix it up or do something a bit more elaborate for dinner but some good recipes are:
Chicken stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon
Pam fried salmon with this cauliflower dish as a side
I also make my own thai green curry paste and freeze it in an ice cube tray. It’s really a case of blending all of the ingredients together and then freezing it. That way when you feel like curry you can just throw a few cubes into the frying pan and then mix in your protein and some coconut milk. Serve with cauliflower rice.
Another really easy meal is a stir fry using Konjac noodles! I also love Aldi’s soy bean spaghetti for when I’m feeling SUPER lazy and I just want to whip up a quick carbonara (which is very easy if doing it the traditional way with eggs or the no traditional with cream).
I’ve also recently bought Quick Keto which is a great recipe book with pretty quick and easy dishes to make.
Sure!
I got it from this book https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1592337619/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i1
But it's just 1 1/2 cups almond meal mixed with two tablespoons of butter or coconut oil for the crust. (add in a teaspoon of cinnamon or all spice or something if you like that). Divide that into 12 cupcake papers (in a cupcake tray) and push it down to make a crust.
Then mix 12oz of cream cheese with some vanilla and some sweetener like erythritol or stevia (use a light hand. I usually add about 1 tablespoon of erythritol) or you can use some lemon or lime juice to taste. divide it between the cups and press it down.
Top with a drizzle of melted dark chocolate mixed with heavy cream, a raspberry, or a few slices of strawberry.
You'll have to calculate your own macros based on exactly how you make it, but it should come in at less than 5 net carbs per cake.
I use Ketodietapp.com ( https://ketodietapp.com/Blog/category/Recipes ) and have 2 Martina's books. Actually using only one ( https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Meals-Minutes-Prep-Cook/dp/1592337619 ) . Can recommend :) I will check out your website too :)
