If all you are looking for is a holder that shifts with a person's movements there have been similar things on the market for many years. I've had this on my motorcycle before and it works great at keeping a drink steady in two axes of motion:

It’s a ram! It’s the most versatile I found as far as mounting options go. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WJ3I1M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
A little on the pricey side, but mine’s been impossible to beat and there’s way more mounting options. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WJ3I1M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have had a lot of success using RAM branded mounts. I like them because I can swap out a cup holder for a phone holder, or a million other things. They are not the least expensive, but they are rock solid enough to be mounted on motorcycles, so you know it's not going to fail.
Here's an all-in-one solution:
RAM Mounts Level Cup 16oz Drink Holder with Handlebar U-Bolt Base RAM-B-132RU with Medium Arm for Motorcycle, ATV/UTV, Bike
RAM Mounts - Level Cup 16oz Drink Holder
If you prefer a holder for a taller coffee cup, this holder would be more adequate. It would also require buying an appropriate 1-in ball mount and connecting arm.
