It runs for about 6-8 hours at a time! I start it every morning as part of my daily routine and let it run until it’s out of water. It sits right next to the plant so the plant does get some of the mist, but the vapor is so fine, I haven’t noticed water beading up or anything like that.
Here’s a link if you want to check out the exact model I bought. It just needs cleaned every few days. Raydrop Cool Mist Humidifier
I am 9 weeks post-op and still sleeping with my humidifier. I primarily breathe through my nose, but I’m stuffy, and I can’t sleep without running it. I also fill it with distilled water. Aside from the humidifier, my necessities are saline nasal spray and Q-tips. Lots of boogers and snot to gently fish out 😐 make sure you have a pain reliever like Tylenol. I didn’t take prescription pain meds, but I needed Tylenol for the first week.
I use this one from Amazon in my plant room. It’s gravity fed, and stays on as long as there’s water available in the tray or water tank. It also has an auto-shutoff when water is out. It keeps the room (80 sq ft) at roughly 75-80% humidity if run at full, and lasts about 8 hours before a refill is needed. I only have cleaned it from minerals in my water. Never had issues with mold or smells.
I use the linked humidifier in my plant room and have never had issues with mold, either in the room or in the humidifier. It runs pretty much 24/7, has an auto-off when empty, and keeps the room at 70% humidity on average.
I just got an ink bird temp and humidity controller, and a Vivosun fogger. Pretty sure it’s too big for me, but I like their brand and wanted to give them a shot. I also covered my bets and bought a tiny mister for cheap (link below) - mostly because the on off and 0-10 level knob appears to be mechanical and not digital so the on / off plug on the inkbird should run it. I’m in a super small space and humid climate, so I suspect the little one will suffice. But again I thought I would see what Vivosun has as a brand and return one.
Reptile fogger was a good search phrase then the size of the tank (1.8 liter or 5 liter for instance).
Edit. Link to little mister

I have this humidifier in my dry aging fridge. Haven't use it for charcuterie yet, but I'm lurking around here to get into it. Humidifier works good with my inkbird. Cuts on when the humistat clicks on.
I’ve never owned a humidifier before, so I don’t have much to reference, but I bought this one in May and I’m very happy with it! It doesn’t have a large capacity, but for the price and the small space I needed it for, it works great! “raydrop Cool Mist Humidifiers for Babies, 1.70 L” https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XDNNS75/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tzdBFbQ0NQDXG
I have this one in my Milsbo. Can adjust the amount it pumps out, nice size reservoir, and can be used with timer
