Sounds like you want something similar to a Razer Abyssus. I've had mine since 2010, its the perfect simple mouse. It does have crevices where dirt can accumulate, I've only had to clean it once in the entire time I've owned it though. My gaming area is typically very clean however.
Finally finished my battlestation this weekend (for now), I've been waiting to post the completed thing so here it is!

Yeah, I had the problem with my old mouse, and my EDPI used to be significantly higher. I just got the G403 about a week ago and so far it feels better than my old mouse (the old mouse was smaller and I was having trouble not dragging my fingertips along the mousepad when making movements).
Started playing around Feb/March with a smaller mousepad (12.6" x 10.8") and ridiculously high EDPI (iirc it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 30k EDPI). Then in April I dropped my EDPI to 6.6k (1,800 x 3.67) because that seemed to be closer to the average on the pro settings page you linked. A couple weeks ago I tried ioStux's method and ending up lowering my EDPI to 2.5k (1,800 x 1.37). Quickly noticed improvement in my aim (mainly that my movement was less jittery, which had been a problem at 6.6k). If helpful, the wrist pain started before I dropped my EDPI.
I know its not always possible, but I would probably suggest saving up for a slightly more expensive but reliable mouse. You don't want to end up with a mouse that fails on you before you gets your moneys worth.
You could save up and get a Steelseries Rival http://steelseries.com/gaming-mice/rival
or
Steelseries Sensei Raw http://steelseries.com/gaming-mice/sensei-raw
or
Razer Abyssus (slightly cheaper) http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Abyssus-Optical-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B002XLR0JI%3FSubscriptionId%3D14H876SFAKFS0EHBYQ02%26tag%3Dttgreviews-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB002XLR0JI
I switch between using a Razer Abyssus, a mouse that has lasted me over 5 years now. But this one is just a simple mouse, has no extra buttons or functions. I like it because of its simplicity and how it feels.
And one I bought a couple years ago called the Thermaltake Black Element. It has multiple extra buttons that you can rebind to various macros or keyboard keys, making it very useful for various games. I've used it to play Guild Wars 2, and I have macros setup on it for repeated mouse clicking to save my fingers and mouse button from wear when doing repetitive tasks in some games.
The amazon reviews talk about the mouse clicking issue, an issue that plagues most mice, but TT has an app that helps to fix that issue found on their site.

That's very possible, though Xbox Live costs $60 per year.
You don't need "hardcore gaming" keyboards and mice to play PC games. But if you really want to spend the extra for it:
and this keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/Raptor-Gaming-000RAPLK1-LK1-Keyboard/dp/B005Q43PPC/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1370900510&sr=1-5&keywords=gaming+keyboard
Can work, and still costs less than 1 standard year of Xbox Live Gold.
Get a CPU cooler. The 2500K comes with a stock unit, but it's a shame to not use like a Hyper 212+ or Corsair A70 on that CPU.
I'd also spend a little more on the video card to get 2GB of RAM.
And the "Mirror Edition" of that mouse is $10 more than the regular one at Amazon, which PC Part Picker doesn't index for some reason.
