For some context, I'm a left handed mouse user. I've been asking companies like razer and logitech at shows like GDC and PAX to make left handed mouses for years. Every single time I'm told that they would love to, but they simply can't sell enough of them to make money. This is a decent way to make sure they can actually successfully sell them.
Right now, the only real "gaming" mouse you can get that's left handed is this: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathAdder-Essential-Left-Handed-Adjustible/dp/B003EUPCZG/. It's expensive, hasn't been updated in years, has pretty much no features, and I've gone through probably 3 of them in the last 6 years.
I'll happily pay the asking price for a mouse like this that fits my needs.
That sucks :(
I bought mine off Amazon, if that's an option for you. Though all the listings seem to indicate "Currently Unavailable" for new product (there are some used ones), so maybe they stopped making them which would be a shame.
There do seem to have a DeathAdder listed, its not a fancy as the Naga, but might work for you.
You are paying for the brand a bit with Razer, but that tends to be the case when you go for any "popular" gaming peripherals, I personal like them, but you have to decide whether the additional cost is worth it for you.
I have been using the Razor DeathAdder for like 8-9 years now and I absolutely love it. My first one lasted like 7 years before it finally started breaking. Here is a link to the left handed edition on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathAdder-Essential-Left-Handed-Adjustible/dp/B003EUPCZG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525830020&sr=8-3&keywords=razer+deathadder+left+handed
i played with a trackpad for 2 years (using WASD for camera movement primarily). At the time I didn't really consider it a big hindrance. I was like 2k MMR though. Then I switched to a mouse because I got more serious about dota; 3 years later I'm 5.6k. While the mouse definitely had some impact on my gameplay, I don't think it was actually all that large.
The biggest downside of trackpad gameplay I feel was that using WASD for camera movement limits the number of hotkeys you have available for skills etc, and that made it harder for me to play some heroes with 5-6 abilities/keybinds, like Ember for instance. For other heroes, I felt trackpad was mostly fine. My click precision did improve when switching to a mouse though, and I was able to confidently switch to using quickcast for most abilities.
I still actually use WASD for camera movement even with a mouse, but I now have extra keybinds on my mouse that are very convenient to use.
If you're struggling with click precision on the mouse, or if you aren't used to using a mouse in your general everyday non-dota life (I was quite comfortable with a mouse since I used to use one before college, before I was introduced to dota, for ordinary computer usage - but then in college I only had my laptop and didn't bother buying a mouse) - you should try playing OSU - it's a game that literally only tests & improves your mouse precision, it's actually quite helpful.
PS. there are also mice available for left-handed people. For instance this one is a mirror reflection of the mouse I use.
I'm a bit late but have some insight since I play left handed. I use pl;' instead of wasd for movement and everything else that's for right handed folk can be mirrored on the keyboard. If you're more comfortable using your left hand for aiming I'd suggest that and also looking into a left handed mouse. I use the Left-Handed Razer Deathadder and it feels much more comfortable than a mouse meant for right handed use, also has keys on the right side.
you shouldn't say that you feel comfortable playing on 800 DPI, most of us play on that or lower (e.g. i use 400)
anyways, its sadly razer but its the only one which is actually good for gaming somehow
There aren't a whole lot but Razer is like the only company that makes left handed gaming mice but here is one that Im planning on getting: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathAdder-3500-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B003EUPCZG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450930406&sr=8-1&keywords=left+handed+gaming+mice

Edit: I just noticed it's a "death adder essential" how is that different from regular ones?

> The mouse is designed to be a right handed tool.
That's not entirely true. While most mice you find will be right handed, left handed mice exist, and so do ambidextrous mice.
On Amazon there is a left handed Deathadder 3500.
