I got this Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller / Gamepad for Android USB-C: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, xCloud, Stadia, GeForce NOW, Luna - Passthrough Charging - Low Latency Phone Controller Grip - Samsung, Pixel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_N2Z31EFZQAJE4H0CSG1E
Anyone here know of a case of product that has grips or a more ergonomic fit for playing games on your phone? I saw this but don't know how it would work with Wild Rift: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_CNBWA0BQRVWH34DYXX12?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Looks like it's this one amazon There's 3 types of Kishis. 1 which is USBC for android, 1 which is lightning for iPhones, another which is Xbox branded buttons but it's identical to the basic usbc one. It's pricier for the branding

Deal of the day: Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller / Gamepad for Android USB-C: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, xCloud, Stadia, GeForce NOW, Luna - Passthrough Charging - Low Latency Phone Controller Grip - Samsung, Pixel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_dl_E1CXNC5D1H5W0N70ZA2N
There are plenty of really good controller adapters for mobile now.
I use this to turn an spare S9 Plus into a poor man's Steam Deck using the Steam Link app. I also run a bunch of emulators off if it. I play GameCube games with the Android version of Dolphin. It's pretty dope.
I think their plan is that your phone would fill that role, with bluetooth connectivity to an Xbox controller, or using something like the Razer Kishi.

This what I got ($45 prime same day delivery): Limited-time deal: Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller / Gamepad for Android USB-C: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, xCloud, Stadia, GeForce NOW, Luna - Passthrough Charging - Low Latency Phone Controller Grip - Samsung, Pixel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_dl_YEN1SSEVHXS4280AAYCM
For my phone I use the Razer Kishi. It basically turns my phone into a Nintendo Switch as the controller goes around the phone. It doesn't use Bluetooth, uses USB-C (or a lightning port if you're using an iOS device). It also folds up to a more compact size for travel. The buttons and d-pad are a bit mushy but I love it overall.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_X8EAEMT42ER5AK0NJ022
Honestly, buying a Razer Kishi might be the easiest thing to make that happen.
That's funny, because I play my pc game on the go with my phone using this https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Kishi-Controller-Android-Passthrough-Thumbsticks/dp/B086X8DHN2
I use a Pixel 3a XL, which mean 1080p 60fps OLED screen. It's basically a Switch with much more comfortable controls than, well, the switch, higher resolution and a slightly smaller screen (6" iirc).
If you mean the controller then the Razer Kishi has been the goto device since its launch last year. Any Xbox One or Series controller also has bluetooth which can be used to connect to Android/iOS.
If you mean streaming apps, there's been Android/iOS complements of just about every game streaming app. Steam Link, AMD Link, Moonlight, and Game Pass (for iOS you have to use the website, but it still. supports controllers).
From OP on another comment: I got this Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller / Gamepad for Android USB-C: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, xCloud, Stadia, GeForce NOW, Luna - Passthrough Charging - Low Latency Phone Controller Grip - Samsung, Pixel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_N2Z31EFZQAJE4H0CSG1E
Well, the framerate has always been a solid 60, only really dipping if you have gigantic farms. The crashes have definitely improved but they still exist. If you have a phone it would be a lot better to just buy this and it'll feel a lot like a switch but with a lot less crashes, and if you have an android device with a high refresh rate screen it'll be even better :)
Stadia games aren’t touch friendly. I’d say get a controller like Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller / Gamepad for Android USB-C: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, xCloud, Stadia, GeForce NOW, PS Remote Play - Passthrough Charging - Mobile Controller Grip Samsung and more https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_JT78WXTD8C17M61DMCB4
It's on for $30 off on Amazon and in various retailers (visions, the source, London drugs, best buy). It's worth noting that I'm in Canada, not sure if this applies where you live.
Here's the Canadian Amazon link: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_4nk6FbKKQPPS5
Razer has a new controller like this called the Kishi. It seems like it's pretty good and very Switch-like but is a little expensive still. It appears to have a physical usb-c connection. I have it on my wishlist so I can't speak to how well it works or what size phones it supports though. amazon.com/Razer-Kishi-Controller-Android-Passthrough-Thumbsticks/dp/B086X8DHN2
I got a Razor Kishi to play Stadia on my phone and it's been pretty great. I can fit it in a large pocket while it's still attached to my Pixel 4XL.
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B086X8DHN2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_7EGBY295TC7XARXA6E9T?psc=1
Isn't this basically the razer kishi? Except for maybe the part of the controller that extends below the phone.
I use this type of controller with my phone. More comfortable than holding a PS4 controller with a mount.
Google's own Pixel phones are great options. The 4A and soon to launch 5A are their "budget" offerings. Otherwise you can go flagship with the Pixel 5 or October's Pixel 6.
Stadia caps at 60 fps so no need to specifically target 120 hz screens. You will ideally want one that is at least 1080p though.
Some solutions that don't involve a new phone:
For your current phone, you could purchase a USB-C to Ethernet dongle (or hub if you want to charge simultaneously) and see if that helps, if you think your Wi-Fi might be the issue.
If input lag is your "laggy" issue (you press a button then it takes a sec before character reacts) it could just be your bluetooth controller. Bluetooth isn't great for gaming, you can wire the controller in via USB, or purchase an official Stadia controller which uses Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth. Or get a Razer Kishi!

Nice game controller!
Have you tried it on another Android phone?
Razer Kishi, hands-down. https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Kishi-Controller-Android-Passthrough-Thumbsticks/dp/B086X8DHN2

There are bumpers around the USB-C to prevent damage and a pass-through USB-C on the device to charge your phone at the same time as you game.
base Steam deck is the best value handheld console out there, there's no device that can emulate everything that it can for $400 (3ds, Wii U, GC, PS2, some PS3, some Switch, and all older retro consoles).
That being said, it sounds like you just want N64 and 3ds. If that's the case, have you considered just using an Android smartphone w/ a controller accessory?
One thing to keep in mind is that 3ds emulation is awkward on a standard 16:9 screen, so the extra-long aspect ratio of an Android smartphone is nice for putting the 3DS screens side-by-side. Or you can do a Surface Duo, which lets you get a ds-like setup (see example in reddit post here).
You could also wait for the new Razer Edge, if you want something more purpose-built for gaming.
Or you could just buy a new 3ds XL, homebrew it, and buy a retroid pocket for all other retro games.

On your phone you can download just the Stadia App. Anyways it gives you access to Destiny 2 over mobile, use Kishi as a controller, never be out of luck ever again.
I played 4, 7, and 9 on mobile. With one of these, it's hella fun to play.
Thanks for the heads up! I look for it in the US and found it's $44.99 on Amazon with free shipping! Great deal.
Been looking at the phone holding gamepad myself, just haven't pulled the trigger.
Check this out. I put one of these on an old phone that I wiped and just loaded with emulators. It's been pretty great.
Here it is without referral codes and garbage:
Maybe try one of those. Unfortunately it's quite a bit more cost wise.

Ah gotcha, that I can understand. I don't have kids but I do have 2 nieces so functionally the same lol.
Have you looked into PS remote play? Can stream your PS4 directly to your phone, I pair it with the Razer Kishi which is a godsend for game streaming to your phone: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Kishi-Controller-Android-Passthrough-Thumbsticks/dp/B086X8DHN2
Also, if you have a Nvidia GPU, you can use Moonlight to stream your PC directly to your phone, with native gamepad support. Provided you have a decent enough connection, it's actually VERY low latency because it uses Nvidia's gamestream API. I've played just off cellular data while at work (teehee!) with minimal input lag. https://moonlight-stream.org/

R Λ Z Ξ R Kishi, or Xbox Core Controller with MOGA PowerA Clip
Android Emulators are most compatible with those controllers. Use DIG as an organizer for all your emulators and some apps are still not optimized on Android 11 to use SD Card access but DIG can be used to bypass this if you plan to store games in SD Card. Otherwise, use emulators as you please without DIG.
You can use DualShock 4 controllers or DualSense controllers as well but sometimes there is a compatibility issues or remapping that has to be done for it to work properly with some Emulators. Up to you.

Reminds me of the Razer Kishi
I mean android one is 20$ cheaper then Xbox branded https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Kishi-Controller-Android-Passthrough-Thumbsticks/dp/B086X8DHN2?th=1&psc=1
