The Razer Naga X is my current MMO mouse of choice. It has a 12-button thumb grid like basically every renowned MMO mouse, but has additional advantages of being lightweight (85g) and having a great sensor that is suitable for competitive shooters. It's also relatively affordable (seems to be on sale at the moment as well?) which is great.
Everyone on this sub seems to love the G600, but it's really an incredibly outdated mouse nowadays. It's incredibly heavy (like 133g), and has a really crappy laser sensor that is completely unsuitable for any FPS games (or any genre that requires precise/fast mouse movements).
It is among the cheapest of MMO mice available from reputable manufacturers due to its age, but I M O it's pretty not worth the buy nowadays unless the only games you play are MMOs.
I used to drop $100-$150 on nice MMO mice, and I too made the change to buying the cheaper / base model mice and treating it as more of a subscription model since I haven't had a mouse in the last 5 years that didn't eventually die in a couple years to the infamous double-click issues all modern mice eventually succumb to. Think I'm basically going to buy this every couple of years. If Amazon had a 2-year subscription model instead of just their monthlies I'd probably just schedule to buy one of these every 2 years ad infinitum lol
Get an MMO mouse, Mne is not ideal only 6 side buttons, some have more. This is not the one I have, Mine is a logitech G604, wireless with 6 buttons. I use 1 for talk and 5 for my slotted skills. I am considering something alnog this line for more buttons.
pzogel's review on TechPowerUp shows good sensor performance, which is expected of a PMW3389 when implemented properly. The main drawbacks are its stiff cable and high weight of 123 g (which is somewhat expected of this type of mouse).
The biggest competition is probably the Naga X ($40 on Amazon and Newegg), which has a better cable, optical switches for right/left click, and a lower weight (85 g).
Razer Naga is my recomendation. The mouse has 12 side buttons. I use 1-12 then, SHift+1-12 , control+1-12. That gives me 36 key binds all within reach of my right thumb and left pinky still maintaining wads capabilities.
The mouse is a bit expensive, but you need the right tools for the right jobs.

amazon has it on sale for 50
The Naga X is also on sale:

I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth spending the little extra on one of these (a lot extra for the Pro) vs the trusty ol' G600:
thoughts?

What about the Razer Naga? The buttons on the side can be mapped to any keyboard keys.
Lots of people recommending the G600; if you can find it cheap (~$30) and literally only play MMOs, it's a fine option.
Personally I would recommend the Razer Naga X; it's slightly pricier at $80 but it's pretty lightweight (85g) and has a high quality sensor that will be suitable for shooters and other games that require precise mouse movements.
I used to switch between two mouses for MMOs and shooters, and the Naga X has replaced both.
