It's uhhh, complicated :^)
I use one of these, have the joystick mapped to WASD for movement, and the keys where WASD would normally be are mapped to arrow keys. Reload is on a mouse button cause I tried it once and I really liked it so I stuck with it. It helps that my mouse has 10 extra buttons P:
If you're going to be out of commission for a considerable time, you should consider getting a gaming keypad. They're roughly $80-200 (depends on the model) but they have a ton of keys on them and a joystick for movement.
Amazon link to a Razer one for the curious: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Orbweaver-Chroma-Mechanical-Adjustable/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=br_lf_m_ptw22vwhnmamana_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&s=pc&th=1
Have you seen the razer Tartarus gaming keyboard? After switching from the standard keyboard, I have much less finger strain and my hand is able to stay in a much more neutral position while playing. Not sure if it suits your needs, but figured I’d share!
From Amazon, here's the link https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_glt_fabc_4VQG4HGFDAGQCPTTNBYY
But don't buy at 12k, i bought it for around 5k which is the right price. Wait for the inflation to subside and get one or you can try some other vendors as well.
You may have already considered this, but I use a gaming keypad (see link below) when I play PC games, and it has been a game changer. You can map each individual key and the one I have has three profiles, which means I essentially have 96 programmable keys on my keypad. There are some that have even more keys, so it might be worth looking into.
Razer orbweaver or Razer Tartarus. The Orbweaver has mechanical keys, but inflation jacked up the price. I've been using the orbweaver for about two years now with no performance issues. The only issue is the pad to rest your hand on is glued on and was sliding off, so I removed it. The hard plastic under it actually feels better.
I had the original belkin nostromo back in like 2007 and I can't go back to regular keyboard for gaming.
Have you ever thought about something like this?
As for your question, if you use a controller you will want to have it plugged in. I am not sure if it is the latency or what, but when it is wireless it doesn't feel like it has ability queue.
Joy2key should be able to. Just some games are weird how they recognize input from it. Have you looked into any gaming keypads? The Razer Tartarus (or off branded ones, there are a few on Amazon) is a combined solution that may work better for you.
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK
I've had this for over a year now, between that and a 12 button mouse I'm set for life. I've even got my UI shifted around to match the keys on both lol. It takes a bit of practice to get used to be no more than practicing complicated keybind combos.
When joysticks don’t work well, or even just for general use, I find this indispensable: https://www.amazon.ca/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=sr_1_1?crid=ONVD34R82AES&keywords=razer+keypad&qid=1655214985&sprefix=razer+keypad%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-1
I use a Razer Tartarus as an extra set of buttons. I set it to work as joystick inputs. You can customize the RGB on each key, which makes it easy to reference/organize your buttons.
I fly in VR exclusively. I bought some stretchy Velcro straps and trap them onto each leg. On my right leg I attach a trackball controller and on my left leg I attach a Razer Tartarus v2 which has a nice key layout for those added controls. Give it a look! It’s not necessarily good for an UFC but it’s great for whatever keys you need.

I also use a pointCTRL device which allows me to interact with the clickable cockpit. Yes production has been slow but issues have apparently been fixed and it’s well worth getting on the order list.
This might be good for you? Razer Tartarus v2

Do you want an actual keyboard or like a game pad like the old Nostromos (these were brilliant and make for a great console translation to PC). Maybe a game pad will suit your needs.
The current version is the Razer Tartarus v2
There are other companies that make game pads like that as well.
some kind of thumbstick keyboard like this one, and just use your thumb instead of wasd
The Left handed RGB one? It's a Razer Orbweaver chroma although I did get it several years ago so the newer one might be a slightly different name. Razer Tartarus v2 Gaming Keypad: Mecha-Membrane Key Switches - 32 Programmable Keys - Customizable Chroma RGB Lighting - Programmable Macros - Classic Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_i_KRKFRP6BT90DGA533BYC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Although I like the orbweaver chroma better than this new one I don't really like to change to the little scroll wheel instead of the 5th key on the bottom row.
I'm in a similar situation and I haven't found a solution yet but I ordered a joystick that I plan on using instead of a mouse for moving the camera and then doing everything else with my left hand on keyboard. If you're interested to know how it works out for me feel free to DM me and I'll send you an update. I've also been looking at this one handed keyboard but I'm not sure if it's possible to remap the joystick to act as the mouse for controlling the camera but depending on what it is you want to do that you can't do with the mouse it might work for you?
One one those Razor keypads would work great and take much less room. I've been playing PC games for over 20 years as well, I just know that in many RPGs and racing games a full range joystick just feels better for movement.
Also, I'm talking about keypads, not full keyboards
Supported controller with a thumbstick/d-pad

That thing was a game changer for me. I bind all the f1-f10 buttons to it and place it right by my throttle super simple and easy especially in vr.
I would highly suggest getting a Nostromo gamepad which is now owned by Razer. I have wrist issues as well and this makes gaming a cake for me.

1234 is above WASD while ZXCV is under it so it's easier access, along with space for ult shift left pinky, Q/E switch very close to WASD, tab will be toggle target lock-on in the future. I don't see me using this as it's looks very difficult.
if you frequently use bluestacks you should look into a moba controller. something like this. the thumb directional pad and mappable keys sound right up your alley.
I know you're asking for builds, but have you considered using one of these

I use the older version(nostromo). I'm not sure to what extent your mobility is affected, but its made multi button builds much easier to play for me
Edit: i clicked the link and it sends me to a Spanish version(?!) But same item
Is there anything wrong with something like this for pc gaming? If so, in what ways is it limited?

or you can you a keyboard that is intended for gaming like this
They are build for gaming rather then typing and they have extra keys to add your own shortcut. https://www.amazon.ca/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?dchild=1&keywords=left+handed+gaming+keyboard&qid=1620425047&sr=8-17
I have the same HOTAS, hope yours doesn't develop the random "yaw left" thing mine has started to do.
I also bought aRazer Tartarus. I mainly use the throttle for supercruise and the Razer anytime I need more precision or keybinds close at hand.

Perhaps you need something like this?
Have you considered looking into a gamepad like one of these? I have an old n52te and they seem to work pretty good. It just takes a bit of getting used to, but less than going against yourself.
Just buy a razer tatarus or something similar. Use the d pad or thumb stick as your movement. It will free up your remaining fingers to use how ever you please. Had an accident that fucked my left hand up. This trick was a god send for years.

> The buttons get too small.
Uh... the "buttons" on them are standard keyboard sized keys. Sounds like you're not paying attention and think he's referring to an MMO mouse.
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/
You just have to do it.
I suggest the Logitech g502 for mouse (it’s $50 for a wired version and $120 for wireless).
As for keyboards, Corsair makes good ones. I have a K65 Mechanical Compact (no numpad) w/cherry red switches, and it is great.
You also have the option of getting a gaming keypad.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fab_LzmHFbH0S1Q9B
That’s the Razer Tartarus. It isn’t necessary though; I only got one because I play some sim games and it’s easier to use that little thing instead of a full keyboard.
Helpful hint for anyone who has a joystick and wants to get a throttle. Look at getting a razor gamepad or something similar. It's not perfect, but I find it works fairly well and they only cost $40-80 depending on the model. It's a good temporary solution until HOTAS throttles come back into stock and prices go down. I'm using this one right now. It's currently on an Amazon prime sale for $50.
I tried lean on my mouse 4 & 5 when I first moved to PC, and for me ya it affected my aim, no matter how well your mouse shape fits your hand you still have to adjust your grip to aim mid fight which I’m sure definitely affects your aim a little bit, this my not be the solution your looking for but I use one of these now and map lean to left and right D pad and it greatly improved my movement, quick peeking ect
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK
Having a good control of the camera it’s pretty important in this game, you would need to find a way to control it, maybe you could get a Razer Tartarus or something similar.
I think you've misunderstood a bit, only the left side can be used on its own, like the right side of an Ergodox EZ can be used on its own by disconnecting the cable between the halves. They've made this change to simplify the use of the left side as a small gaming keyboard (like e.g. the Razer Tartarus), since you often only use the left part of the keyboard while gaming (with the right hand on the mouse).
The right side can have its uses on its own as well, but it's probably a lot less common than the left since most people use their mouse with the right hand.
If you haven't already, invest in an adaptive controller setup from Microsoft. If you combine this with steam's remap feature and FFXIV's controller layout you could really set this up nicely.
Alternatively if you want to use actual keys, you could try something like the Razer Tartarus V2 This way you have keys and a dpad for either moving your character or the camera.
Red Mage would be a really great idea for her since it's limited on buttons and you're not switching targets incredibly often like you would for healers or tanks.
Have you looked into any of the specialized gaming keyboards? They don’t replace a regular keyboard, they supplement it. You can program the keys to be whatever you want.
Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=gaming+keyboard+hotkey&qid=1568057871&s=gateway&sr=8-5
Razer Tartarus V2: 32 Progammable Keys - Detachable Palm Rest - Razer Mecha-Membrane Mid-Height Keys - Gaming Keypad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8UCpCbYJSA743- he uses this numpad.
I use a razer Gamepad and use the bartender addon to match my on-screen action bar layout to the layout of the keys.
I find it so much easier to identify what my keys are and use the joystick for sidestep and forward/back movement. I would not be able to play wow without it and keep a spare handy.
As far as losing your target, I quickly get overwhelmed when keeping track while fighting multiple mobs. I set me main target health bar to be a fair bit larger than the other mobs in the group and always use a Personal spotlight to keep track of myself when playing melee.
Keep in mind that you don't have to be a an amazing player to enjoy the game either.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_SAHMMX90HG19RRXAVGP9
^ This is the one I use at home.
Otherwise on the go I use a cheap Logitech trackball mouse.
Could look into something like the Razer Tartarus
https://www.amazon.ca/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK
Now Idunno if they come in left handed vs right handed or if they are any good, but if that suits your fancy, just look into "Gaming KEYPADS" in search engines/online stores since thats what they are called, hope that helps.
Oh yeah, I saw the remote. If you get the Pro, then the remote is useless because that was the only useful part was the scroll wheel it includes.
A lot of artists actually buy this: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
You can map any shortcut you want, and it gives you a hell of a lot more buttons than the remote does, for $30 more.
And it also includes scroll. I've debated on buying it just as an extra piece so I can map a few more keys.
The Pro 16 TP would be great for 4k, if you're a professional artist. But the killer for me is the lack of macros. I'd like a better display, but I really need those buttons.
For me, my right hand can't be used to play video games for the time being, so something like this but with a trackball instead of a dpad would be perfect for me: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1DSTEM94W0U9F&keywords=one+handed+gaming+keypad+with+dpad&qid=1669052630&sprefix=one+handed+gaming+keypad+with+dpad%2Caps%2C239&sr=8-2
For some reason it doesn't really exist, which baffles me, but it's how it is.
To add: I used this guy when I had a broken hand from a MTB crash this summer:
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07754PYFK?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details
Buy a macropad, e.g.
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK
Map 4 keys to space or whatever and just tap those 4 keys with your 4 non-thumb fingers in a rolling motion over and over.
With your budget, maybe something like a Tartarus or a Cheaper copy?
If you can go in on an order with someone else to keep the shipping cost down maybe the WinWing Take Off or Combat panels. They're one of the cheaper options, but still not actually cheap.
waiting for the day that they make a wireless Tartarus with onboard memory for mapping. But at this point in time, I think only procreate has a shortcut numpad option. But then again, I haven't ordered it myself and haven't read otherwise online but I don't see why it specifically can't be rebound within CSP.
I see. If you don't need two mice, I'm not sure why you're using another mouse-ish device. Why not something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK

Which is completely customizable and doesn't register as a mouse. I have one of those at home and a Logitech G13 at work.
I bought this specifically for the game:

I'm right-handed, but learned to mouse with my left hand 20 years ago after RSI injury, and have gamed with left-hand-on-mouse since then, though I've started to train with my right hand for games.
Here ya go. It was down to $50, looks like it's up to $64 now.
For reference, next time you try to post an Amazon link, make sure it's in this format: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/
I shattered my wrist a year back and its still a problem today. 14 screws, 2 plates and 2 pins (removed). I now have more metal in my wrist than bone :P. This is what I use.
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK
it takes some getting used to, but now I can barely play a game with anything else. If your right hand is buggin you, just use it for basic mouse things and set all the keybinds for your left hand to do. Probably not what most do, but I use the thumbstick to move my character and then start my combos in order from bottom right to top. You can do some macros with it, but its not friendly with the TOS. If its too expensive now, black friday/cyber monday deals might make it easier to get. (sales do happen periodically)
I still play (mostly) well. I won't be winning any dps races, but I seem to do alright. I'd recommend MCH or DRG, since they have pretty set rotations. That frees you up to watch the fight happen, learn where to stand and where not to. MCH doesn't get a GTFO button so standing near the edge of any AOEs is a matter of survival. I really enjoy the fights as MCH as I"m able to stand back, do my thing and relax. RDM makes for an easier mage class if you prefer magic.
I had the same problem I gave up with the controller and got this left hand gaming keyboard.
Then for the mouse I found something where I can change wepond with my right hand.
Didn't want to make a new thread but this is also a really good deal:

Its the Razer Tartarus V2 Mecha-Membrane Gaming Keypad; good for MMO's etc.
i use a https://smile.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2EB1WDXMUI151&dchild=1&keywords=tartarus+v2&qid=1629424314&sprefix=tartarus%2Caps%2C375&sr=8-1 . its great for me. or also an keyboard with its own software.
I know this isn't what you're looking for but, I have a lot of wrist issues in my right arm. I have had to shift a lot of the heavy-lifting to my left hand for actions while I play games. This product has been instrumental in doing just that.
It lets me use my left thumb for many actions and adding a shift modifier to many of those keys far exceed the number of binds that GW2 requires. The software you get to accompany the pad let's you customize the daylights out of it. Would highly recommend to another with right hand problems. Also get a wrist rest, it'll help a lot.
Looks like it can be switched
You can try something like This. You’ll have to learn to aim with your thumb.
From a controller player to another, here's what I think you should do:
Invest in a gaming keypad, an mmo mouse, and a lapdesk to place them on.
For keypads, Razer has the Tartarus. I use a Logitech G13, but you'll have to scan ebay for one. For mice, Razer makes the Naga and Logitech still sells the G600, which is what I use. These are just suggested brands and models; you should shop around for what you might prefer. Finally, look around for a good, padded lapdesk. You'll want space to affix the keypad with 3M tape, but also room enough for a mousepad.
Theory of Operation:
If you're anything like me, you're accustomed to having several buttons under your right thumb while only occasionally using your left thumb for d-pad functions. The rest of your fingers only manage two buttons and two triggers.
The mmo-style mice are programmable, allowing you to put a lot of bread-and-butter actions back under your right thumb, which will ease up on what you are managing and relearning with your left hand.
The keypad takes up minimal space, allowing it to fit on the lapdesk. The lapdesk may be more comfortable in helping you get back into the posture you're familiar with on a controller.
I can play Halo:CE on Xbox with my eyes closed, but getting a PC a decade ago and jumping into Custom Edition was extremely difficult for me because I had to fight a lot of muscle memory on a full-sized keyboard and two-button mouse. Adopting a setup like this proved to be far more comfortable and got be back to green-thumbing. I play Titanfall 2, CS:GO, and QuakeWorld on this kind of setup.
Of course, ymmv and I admit that I still use a controller in single-player games, where possible. The lapdesk setup can also be difficult for RTS games, so it doesn't solve everything, but I find it to be an enjoyable compromise for multiplayer shooters.
Best of luck!

This topic comes up now n then, aside from a periperal like the Razr Tartarus https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=razer+mouse+and+keyboard&qid=1612943861&sr=8-10
A run of the mill "MMO" mouse will prob do the trick depending, Im using https://www.amazon.ca/Logitech-Gaming-Mouse-Black-910-002864/dp/B0086UK7IQ
There are some accesiblity options for SOME games (e.g online pvp games might ban you for 3rd party apps)
A free program (paid version is like $20 CAD give or take) i think that lets you bind voice commands to keystrokes e.g. "open menu" into your mic=computer auto presses ESC, program is called VOICE ATTACK and is par for the course for Elite Dangerous
Also might be a good opportunity to broaden horizons with new genres if that doesnt work out, been doing lots of card games like Gwent+MTG arena myself
You can always rebind W to S and S to X or something. That might not work for you so you can also use one of this:https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2MAWFC1L5LYYQ&dchild=1&keywords=one+hand+gaming+keyboard&qid=1605723940&s=electronics&sprefix=one+hand+ga%2Celectronics%2C168&sr=1-6

You could buy this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07754PYFK/ one-handed keyboard with a mini joystick for your thumb.
Ive always played both so the switch wasnt as hard for me overall I just didnt have the PC for actual AAA games. I had never played FPS on PC though so it was an adjustment to be honest. My BIL just switched to keyboard from controller & console after like 10 years of console gaming. He uses this special controller/mouse from Razer that he likes alot. I guess its just preference. One you get the hang out of though mouse/keyboard are superior in my opinion.
This is the controller my brother uses linked, he said it helps with wrist pain he gets from trying to use a keyboard (Idk i dont have that problem haha but just for reference)
The tablet is mostly when I'm mining or playing star citizen which doesn't have vr right now. It's nice to have but not really needed. It really lets me zone out.
The mini keyboard is a Razer Tartarus v2. I wanted a mouse wheel somewhere and I use it in a very shallow way so it's like a button box I only use once in a while.
The trackball is the elecom Huge wireless. You can program the extra buttons to functions or keyboard keys. It has some gesture support but I haven't really explored it yet.
I can understand budgetary constraints, but have you considered using something like this?

Talking about Razer, does anyone know about an alternative to the Orbweaver that includes an integrated joystick?
If you don't mind spending cash you can always get a one handed MMO keyboard.
There is also the Logitech G13 and Belkin Nostromo, but you'll have to find one used or on Ebay.
Additionally there is VoiceAttack software, that allows you to issue commands vocally. This is commonly used for games like Elite Dangerous, but I don't see why you couldn't use it to, for example, change targets or target friendlies.
Have you seen something such as the Razer Tarturus or Razer Orbweaver? It is a gamepad that sits under your left hand and has a hat switch which can be bound to movement as well as other buttons on it. Maybe something such as those could be viable for him with some practice.
Here is a link just so you can get an idea of what they are. https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Chroma-Mecha-Membrane-Programmable/dp/B07754PYFK
Wonky game controls is why I got a gamepad like this. Bunch of keys to easily bind to whatever and make even the jankiest DOS-era games play with WASD comfort
there are gaming keyboard with analog sticks.
Get a "Nostromo" type device, use your thumb to move as you're probably used to from console games, freeing up three fingers for spells and keybinds. Modern one here:
