Ah i just got mine in amazon. The elite has durability issues imo but I havent really used the new version. But the wolverine that I got was refurbished and is still working till this day. My elite broke after a month of using it because the joystick broke lmao. This is thecontroller and there is the new version the v2 which I have no info about so thats up to you.
Get this… I’ve been using the same one for years and it doesn’t come with Mods.
Razer Wolverine Ultimate Officially Licensed Xbox One Controller: 6 Remappable Buttons and Triggers - Interchangeable Thumbsticks and D-Pad - For PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074RNL1RX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Q7SR9D8R2YSEDMNMKMR9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
From what I can tell, the Razer Wolverine Tournament Edition is no longer being made / sold.
This seems like the modern incarnation. What do you think?
I use the Razer Wolverine Ultimate Xbox controller and its been lasting longer than most of my controllers (typically have a lifespan of 6mo-1yr).
I've only had it for about 6 months now but has held up better than any other controller I've used in that time period. It's a bit more pricey but I feel its worth the investment.
A big perk that it has is the cable that plugs into it locks in and isn't so free to fuck up the cable or the input on the controller.

Is what you want just a gamepad wherein the d-pad is four separate buttons? I too like this for games I use gamepad on, and imo this controller fits that niche nicely

The 4 d-pad buttons (and all the other inputs) are separate mechanical buttons, so you can feel them quite distinctly.
The ultimate has the two extra bumpers and I Believe the tournament doesnt but razer does send to the US the raiju just weirdly has issues with that. I got mine on Amazon.
New for $160 rn
It took about a week or two to get fully used to it, but now I love them. They have 4 additional buttons. 2 traditional paddles and 2 buttons. I use the buttons, your middle finger on each button rests they are, all you have to do is tap them and you guy will jump, crouch etc. Its helped me a ton when it comes to gunfights. I have same model below.

They have newer models now but this is only a 100 bucks so its a great price.
I love my wife...
She heard me talking about this to a buddy, and she took it upon herself to make a purchase.
With that said, she isn't a gamer. The most current games she plays is Super Mario 2. As such, I'm worried about the choice she made.
She went with a Razer Wolverine (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074RNL1RX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details), which is admittedly a more budget-friendly choice. Still, I would have like to try holding one before pulling the trigger, as I get a little pick about how a controller fits in my hands.
Might still work out. For all I know, it will be a VERY comfortable fit in the hands.
Just gotta figure out whether I want to go with a more classic scheme, or something more modern...

My XB1 controller recently died. I've tried out DS4 controllers, and I think I might get one. Is it a hastle to use on PC though?
Alternative question; How does the razer wolverine compare to Xbox 1 elite and customizing your own Xbox 1 controller with metal buttons instead?
Razer Wolverine Ultimate Chroma- Fully Customizable Gamepad Controller - Interchangeable Analog Sticks & Dpad - Compatible with Xbox One, PC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074RNL1RX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_eFWrBb741KEMN
This is a pretty good one. I've used the elite and the razer and i think the razer is better for fighting games. I like the dpad better as well.

have you tried the controllers that have more buttons like the Xbox elite controller or like this one:
Razer Wolverine Ultimate edition
which has 6 extra reprogrammable buttons?
Honestly the orbweaver iskinda meh. https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Wolverine-Ultimate-Customizable-Controller/dp/B074RNL1RX/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1522078519&sr=1-3&keywords=razer+controller
The Razer controller (albeit 150$) is also a valid option as it has an additional 6 buttons that can be set as modifiers, which severely opens up how easy a controller can be to use.
I find that the Razer or the xbox elite controller are fine even for semi high level content. There's not all that much that they restrict you from, you can move, look, turn, cycle through targets and go into menus fine. then you have at least 40+ keybinds available for abilities and bound items.
