@Tec_ To be honest my response is based on home audio. I don't have any experience with car audio. Perhaps I won't notice a difference at all. But in theory I feel I should take it into account if I'm going for an SQ build. I also certainly agree about sound dampening. I was actually debating whether to buy an old Lexus LS or add sound dampening to my car. Due to circumstances of the moment, upgrading a mediocre car is a better fit than starting with a luxury car. Sound dampening is actually highest on my list, but I have no idea about the cost since I plan for someone else to do it. I would do sound dampening even if I wasn't getting an audio system. But just to prove how important sound dampening is to me, I bought a Reed SD-4023 decibel meter a week ago. This is an excellent device that I encourage everyone to get. It allows me to data log noise over a period of time. I've been using it on my daily commute to arrive at an average decibel cabin noise. It's great because it allows me to download the files onto my computer and average them out. Much better than the cheaper ones that don't have memory.
