I'm not an architect but I recently bought a historic home and am in the middle of a book about historic homes and I've already learned an incredible amount about the styles and such. Not sure if it'll help for your career but this has helped me at least speak the same language as other folks more knowledgeable on the topic.
Neat poster! I recently got this book and it’s been extremely fun to look through all the types of homes!
Your daughter sounds awesome! And you're awesome for supporting her, OP! She's already made great strides in researching the house's history and reaching out to the owners and those who have restored buildings locally.
To answer your questions:
I've worked in historic preservation for 15 years and have a graduate degree in this field. Also own and work on my own old house. I'd be happy to try to answer any questions you or your daughter have about historic preservation. :)
