I got this for my husband for Christmas. He’s 6’3 and loves it! It’s super lightweight and uses trekking poles to set up.

Though I prefer a hammock now, my first sub 3lb tent, just north of 2 actually, was this guy from Amazon. I still consider it one of the best tents I own. At under $50 it’s an incredible value. It’s got free returns, so you might give it a whirl; it’s beaten the tar out tents 6 times its price in my experiences. River Country Products Trekker Tent 2, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SD6TQ34
If you want to go even lighter there’s a version with no integrated fly for around $35 and you can MYOG a rain fly from a polyolefin “Frost King” sheet from Home Depot using simple taped metal washers for fly rig corners.
Ultralight gear is going to run $300-$500+ for that usually. I like the Durston x-mid - I have the 1p but not sure if the 2p is in stock.
For under $100 you could get a River Country Trekker 2 tent. A lot of people hate it due to leaking issues. If you buy a $5 tube of seam seal it'll be fine. I have actually used this on the AT in a rain storm before I upgraded to the x-mid. https://www.amazon.com/River-Country-Products-Ultralight-Backpacking/dp/B07SD6TQ34/
It's only 50 bucks and weighs 3 lbs. You need trekking poles to set it up - you can get Cascade Mountain Tech aluminum poles on Amazon for around $20.
