They have a decent tent on Amazon for $75 bucks

Don't overthink it. Just tell him he snores and you want to sleep in a seperate tent
I always recommend the river country 2.2. After you get it, do your own water proofing and you’ve got a solid, light weight 2 person tent.

I didn't want to try their 1 person because it really doesn't look breathable and the weight is comparable to the two person (which doesn't have a vestibule, so basically a 1 person with storage space). I got their older 2 person model which only vents through the doors if they're open, still had condensation, but not terrible, sans rain.
I think the updated 2 person version (https://www.amazon.com/River-Country-Products-Trekking-Backpacking/dp/B07FNVTNSL/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1538079979&sr=8-4&keywords=River+Country+Products) looks fine. Its got big mesh walls so it'll vent a lot better, and the weight is comparable for the price range. That said, if you can save up 50-70 more dollars, you can cut weight and have a better tent, imo, with this 3FUL 1 man: (https://www.amazon.com/3F-Gear-Backpacking-Lightweight-Mountaineering/dp/B073Z6JRD8/ref=sr_1_2?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1538080101&sr=1-2&keywords=3F+UL+tent). The pitch can be a little tricky the first two times, but its great once you get it right.
Another option. Looks like this company sells some larger tents. Little heavier though probably. Looks like it's a US based company though instead of a random Chinese company

Indeed. Thanks for the info. I definitely will have to snag a tent like that at some point. Here is the one I am using
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FNVTNSL/?ref=exp_corporalscorner_dp_vv_d
It weighs just about 3 pounds not including the poles. But hey you just use your trekking poles or find stick to use and your good to go!
Been using this tent recently and I'm really happy with it!

I am 6'5 and also bought the Trekker 2.2. It's also a steal at $58.
I'd say it DOES count as ultralight if you're actually using it for 2 people - at 3 lbs that's 1.5 lbs per person for a roomy fully enclosed tent.

They also have a new design which is not yet on Amazon, being sold for $40 as a 'beta' to get customer feedback, which is 3 lbs 7 oz but is 7 ft long and also has a large vestibule and large mesh inner design to eliminate condensation:

I think they make great budget lightweight stuff.
Here is a cheap option, but one that I just bought and took on a backpack trip and fits me and my gear just fine (I'm 6'2" as well). Its light and compact in the bag, but has no vestibule.

Check out the reviews. I had the first version of this (before it was stolen while traveling a few weeks ago!) and while that one had some condensation issues, this one seems to have solved that according to the reviews. At $50 it's a steal and I'd order it right now, except I think I'm gonna try switching to an ultralight tarp. Might still order it anyway.
I prefer this 'pup tent' style vs dome tent designs as it feels more roomy.
I currently have their open-air tarp/ground sheet combo ($25) in my shopping cart:
River Country Products Open Air Trekker Tent Shelter, Backpacking Shelter, Hammock Rain Fly Green https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075SKCSJS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_xkV9DbVEYFYHR
Both are trekking pole tents but you could get separate tent poles or use sticks if convenient - or tie them off between trees.
Edit: I just went ahead and ordered both. Still gonna try the tarp setup, but at that sale price the full tent was too good to pass up.
Edit: I'm guessing people are downvoting me because I'm sounding like a shill. I have no relationship with that company at all, and you can look through my post history to confirm I'm a regular user here. I just stumbled upon their stuff while looking for cheap and lightweight.
