Basically it's the most recent successor of their Kone Pure series (e.g. core, military, primarily different in colour). It's improved in terms of sensor, coating and weight.
Honestly it depends on what type of grip you use. Also, most mice are made for palm style grips. I went through too much money over the years until I realized that.
For me, I found out I have a claw-type grip and after doing some research I settled on the Roccat Kone Pure Core. I've absolutely loved it.

The Roccat KONE Pure Military (Desert Strike color) is only $34.99 and that's the best price I've seen for a gaming mice of that quality.

Oh that sucks, not sure where in the UK you are but they have em below 50. It's the best claw grip mouse I've tried, and I have the M65, G502, DeathAdder 2013, Zowie FK2 and ZA11
Just know that laser sensors aren't as accurate and precise. Roccat Kone Pure is excellent, but it's not flawless like a top optical sensor. However, despite the praise from Zowie mice, they have some sensor input latency even though there is no acceleration, deceleration, or pixel-skipping issues. Roccat Kone Pure would be an upgrade either way IMO. Sensor, build quality, etc. is better than Zowie.

Roccat Kone Its the one I narrowed down my choices to when I first got a "good" mouse. It's simple has 2 extra mapable buttons and just feels right in your hands.
Is it great for FPS? What about this one?http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009DYOPJQ/ref=gno_cart_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3BEAI7QE4KYCM
