I live in Minneapolis, and I have these, the neoprene ones that you linked. I've ridden in single digit temps with them, and I think they work quite well! They don't really provide warmth, but are a great set of windbreakers. I wear gloves with them when I ride, and have been pleased with the results. They're on deck for this coming winter!
Minnesota, here, so I know all about the cold.
For winter biking, I use something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JHMBZWY/
They really keep your hands warm and let you use pretty thin gloves so you have good dexterity for braking and shifting.
For inside the plane, depending on what kind of plane, you might not need gloves at all. I found that a Skyhawk can really warm up and not need any gloves. Usually not even a heavy coat. Even with a thin coat I sometimes find myself getting too warm. I wear gloves during preflight but then take them off once inside.
$25 bar mits if you want to maintain dexterity and stay warm
