the brand galaxyhydro/roleandro is equal to, maybe a little better than marshydro, they are both chinese led panel amazon/ebay sellers. However, that particular COB is very low end, entry level, not worth +$30 over the regular mars300. its pulling 100w vs 132w and putting out the same blurple light.
A "real" 100w at the wall cob will set you back $200 and or more
stay with the 2 mars or better yet, get 2 of these newer white led panel
This is my second time growing, the first plant was nothing but small popcorn size buds, this one I actually got a good bit. The light I’m is wing is 3 years old and it was 60.00.
This is the light.
Roleadro LED Grow Light, 600W 2nd Generation Plant Light Full Spectrum for Indoor Greenhouse Hydroponic Plants Veg and Flower https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4G9JVA55R6JBVC2P1SCT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Defoliating has proven results in terms of increasing yield, and it helps prevent mold and WPM due to moisture being trapped between fan leaves of a busy plant. I hope it works well for your plants!
On the temperature, I'm not 100% sure without knowing a lot more information about your grow space, including the room it's in, the airflow and A/C system of your house, etc. You know, you could keep your 150w, and then maybe opt for one of the cheap LEDS on Amazon just as a supplement for the flowering stage? The LEDS don't generate as much heat, and if you are at a steady 70 degrees, you have about 10 degrees of wiggle room before you start really heat stressing plants (80°f is what I would consider the absolute upper limit for flowering, with properly managed RH).
There are a lot of choices online, I personally have a viapar and a roledro for my grow. I'm really happy with both, but if you need supplemental flowering light, I'd opt for the roledro because it has a better flowering spectrum. Here's a link, look at the second Gen yellow color: https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Generation-Spectrum-Greenhouse-Hydroponics/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1542517552&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=roleadro%2Bled%2Bgrow%2Blight&dpPl=1&dpID=41T44Ttu...
My bad. I got that one on Amazon. I'm not really sure how that one compares in strength to the T5s, but I'm inclined to say it's weaker. I still think "a few feet" would be a stretch for a Cattleya light. I think the product listing on Amazon has some information along those lines.
Now I'm trying to justify spending money on a light for my orchid to my wife. Do you have any research you did on this, how has the light worked out? I like the DIY rapidled.com 2x2, but I also like this $70 "sunlight colored" light. What do you think? How did you hang your light, and what sort of timer did you use?
Roleadro Upgrade and Newly Developed LED Grow Light Full Spectrum 2nd Generation Series 300w Plants Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_xPWqzb0WPXRNG
This is what i got to start. <$70 and free amazon prime shipping. I'm not sure how it would work for the Netherlands though
Roleadro Upgrade and Newly Developed LED Grow Light Full Spectrum 2nd Generation Series 300w Plants Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_Lgya4SMIBgkRz)
I was messing with my phones camera mode because normally there is this annoying yellow tint that happens. I was trying to adjust it away with pro mode but I feel like it came out worse. I posted another link to normal pics in the comments in here already
Its a single Viparspectra 300. I know some folks are saying it's underpowered and slightly the wrong spectrum. That may be true, but this is my first grow so I'm going to gauge performance after the harvest and make changes if the harvest is unsatisfactory to me. I would rather not have too many variables to consider at once. I am strongly considering another 300w light to match this one OR switching to using the Roleadro Grow Light
I would recommend the Roleadro 300w 2nd gen LED light. No blurpleness (which is why I got it), it's a decent light for about $70 on amazon. I'm only using about half of my 4x2x5 (LxWxH) tent, so I would get two if you'll be using your entire tent.
It's my first growing season with it so I can't comment on its long-term reliability but so far it's been great (I.e., decent build quality, no burnt LEDs). Heat hasn't been an issue and inside of my tent, it hasn't been too loud.
It does have its downfalls though. One is the hanging hardware it comes with is pretty cheap and doesn't adjust so you'll need to figure that out. Also, there isn't an on/off switch or the ability to daisy chain lights, which many of the other brands have.
However, for $70 it's a decent budget light.
Roleadro Upgrade and Newly Developed LED Grow Light Full Spectrum 2nd Generation Series 300w Plants Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_SQU7ybW3KAC37
The amount of cfls needed to get a decent amount would come out to about the same as a started led light. With 2 23w bulbs you won't be able to make much.
Get one of these and save yourself the trouble.
Roleadro Upgrade and Newly Developed LED Grow Light Full Spectrum 2nd Generation Series 300w Plants Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_n4.YybX8HY6PS
It comes with a hook and just tie it to something to suspend it above your plants.
Also, Amazon has the 40w bulbs in case you still want to go that route.
Yeah I hope this does not break any rules though. It says 300w but it actually only draws 150w 300 is like the max or equivalent or something. https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Upgrade-Developed-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=sr_1_26?ie=UTF8&qid=1485299846&sr=8-26&keywords=LED+light+full+spectrum
It's pretty great! Slightly loud fans but can't complain for the price.
your t5 fixture is going to get hot in a nonvented closet. you might as well get a 400-600W aircooled HID fixture. plus you will need 2 sets of bulbs, 8x 6500K for veg and 8x 2700K for flower.
Even these LED lights are better imo
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=twister_B01N9GZQKS?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
Also looking at a Roleadro 300w (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/?th=1). I guess my question also comes down to whether I need one or two of these. I heard the 50w/sq.ft measure, which 300watts ideally covers; but I've also heard that you should cover the ceiling of your tent to get the proper coverage, but these panels are pretty small compared to the tent (which is also pretty small).
why not just a roleadro 300w watt LED or something if you're just going to go with a veg light for starting seeds + vegging. I assume you'll be moving your plants outside in a few months? A lot of people on here seem to be liking the roleadro lights over the mars hydro lights due to each LED being a little more full spectrum compared to the bluish purple hue of the 1st gen mars 300's.
As for the light I switched to, I saved up for a CMH setup because it was Ideal for my situation and I wanted to get good lights in the meantime until I start messing around with COB LED's. Kinda pricey, but my buddies also grow and would be interested in taking that light off me secondhand once I get my COB's built down the line.
I've seen a lot of people recommending this one https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Upgrade-Developed-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=sr_1_2?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1483212103&sr=1-2&keywords=Roleadro
on here, is that for all stages of growth and the one you linked just for flowering or something?
whats your budget? because that one CFL fixture you linked isnt going to be enough for 3 plants.
i suggest two of these lights or https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Plant-Light-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479106598&sr=8-2&keywords=roleadro for 3 plants
Or this would probably work pretty well without having too offensive of a color to be around https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Plant-Light-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=sr_1_10?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1477711422&sr=1-10&keywords=full+spectrum+led
This is the light I got:

I also just picked up a cheap $9 timer on amazon. Works like a champ. I keep mine on from 9:30am to 9:30pm
Edit: here is the timer
Century 24 Hour Plug-in Mechanical Timer Grounded https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MVFF59S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_AvlOzbW25N6CN
600w (Top)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
???watts 100w or less (Side lights)
I would suggest looking into F series LED strips from Samsung, instead of more panels. Like this one that I just built for my 2x3 cabinet. For a little over $100 this light puts out over 15000 lumens at 90W - compare that to 5000 lumens from this typical 300W panel which is the exact same light I was using before I put the new light in there.
If you want to spend a little more money these are great and still not too expensive:

I like this one... my plants do too. Roleadro
Grow Tent Details!
Light: Roleadro 300W LED light
Fan and filter: ipower 4" inline fan with carbon filter (my roomates are worried about the smell
Tent: Millard 30" x 18" x 36" tent
Odds and ends: A digital timer to schedule lights
Plus a small clip on fan.
I also recently added a Roleadro 138W LED light (55W true) UFO to start seedlings on a 12/12 from seed schedule.
Training Details!
I topped the main cola twice (of the NL's plant) and the first secondary nodes once to produce 8 tops (during veg). I then flipped to 12/12 lights after a total of 37 days from germination. I'm struggling to keep humidity down during the rain we have been getting and have tried to make up for it with a lot of air flow. Fed her FFOF nutes Grow Big during veg and Tiger Bloom in flower essentially every watering. I have also been adding GH's Floralicious Plus the last couple feedings.
Thanks! Yeah I had 1x 300w Roleadro LED, but the plant got too big so I upgraded to those 2 COBs a couple months in haha
Now the Roleadro is over a couple cherry tomatoes and peppers that I planted cause why not? The other freebie photo I planted turned out to be a male so I had space
Excited to see how much I'll get from my first harvest! If it's ever ready -_-
I've gotten a fair amount of help from this sub over my grow, Henry has re-assured me quite a few times haha :D
The LED I am using was recommended on this sub:
Pulling up the fan now
Two of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HI3AFYM/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2L94QV6P0R9ON
or two of these, they have little lenses to help cast the light since LEDs don't spread well. https://www.amazon.com/HIGROW-Optical-Spectrum-Greenhouse-Hydroponic/dp/B01HYUQ9QC/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1497292285&sr=1-1&keywords=higrow
Damn dude, those plants look nice! My girl is on day 53 from sprout as well, but I don't even have buds going yet. I think she is just about done stretching. I'm only using a roleadro 300w right now though.
Got 2 of these babies that should be in the mail tomorrow so that should give them plenty of light! :D
Edit- The bigger of the two is the auto, she is a Caramelicious from msnl, supposed to have a 'flower time' of < 8 weeks... Originally I thought that was total time... now I'm thinking they mean 8 weeks after pistils... Been almost a month since I saw those. I stressed her our a bit by going too far on LST, that probably set me back a bit...
https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Upgrade-Developed-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490815252&sr=8-1&keywords=roleadro+300w pick up one of these, or the 600w if you have the extra cash.
for that price, a roleadro would be better, only half the light emitted is directed toward the plant from that led bulb. or make a small cob setup and under drive them since you have low vertical space.
SAG has done a grow with regular LED bulbs
https://www.reddit.com/r/HandsOnComplexity/comments/1lmfe2/1st_try_with_the_ekrof_space_bucket/
I don't the like the old Mars. The spectrum seems to cause malnutrition problems.
I have this roleadro. But, I'm not using it yet: https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Plant-Light-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1481776296&sr=8-2&keywords=roleadro
My other COB light that I'm running now: https://www.amazon.com/CrxSunny-Specturm-Hydropnic-Greenhouse-Growing/dp/B01N9A82RV/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481776381&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=crx+sunny+1000
I'm using the CRX for my veg plants and they're growing fast. I can see it after a few hours. I'm impressed so far. I like it because it has UV and more middle colors.
The roleardo uses epistar lamp beads that are supposed to have the same spectrum as the CXA 3070.
My mars had 10 lamp beads burn out. I had take it apart and solder new beads on. It's kind of a pain. COB's are easy to swap in comparison.
id go with these lights if you dont wanna DIY or buy a prebuilt COB fixture with quality components. I could see CMH or LEC doing as well or better than mars hydro style leds and the one i linked above.

Plan right now is 2-3 plant Scrog garden with 2-3 Roleadro 300watt white panels.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_iDwvyb78F4P77
Really appreciate the help everyone.
You'll only pull 2-3 ounces
For around 100$ I would recommend a mars 300 or https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Plant-Light-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480386034&sr=8-2&keywords=roleadro would be good
I've got everything in my amazon cart now for a set up like you are looking for.
I purchased soil amendments from mephisto genetics as well as seeds and will have no need for extra nutrients. Also if you are fine with autos they have a great Black Friday sale going on. http://mitch386.wixsite.com/mephistogenetics/product-page/35d08695-5331-6aab-5143-8d51f0df1fe1
These are the lights I'm going with, getting two. Roleadro 300W LED Plant Grow Light Full Spectrum, 2nd Generation Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_WR4nybSHBEVW8

As far as soil I'm going to use coco coir for one plant and then a organic mix I used for my garden. Nature's Footprint 650g Coconut Coir Brick https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004W8BMS0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_AX4nybG2P84VD
As far as my ventilation fan I have one lying around the house and am using a cold plasma generator to neutralize odors instead of carbon filter.
Have you looked into the roleadro 300 watt? That's the one I'm planning on going with. Roleadro 300W LED Plant Grow Light Full Spectrum, 2nd Generation Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HI3AFYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_eTHpybB9MB1S9
honestly pay a few bucks more for a higher watt growlight, as remember the cheap growlights (all of them) are only about 1/2 or 1/3rd of what they are rated as. for instannce
https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Plant-Light-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM or https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Hydroponic-Efficiency-Indoor-Greenhouse/dp/B00RWQ4B50/
should be MUCH better light vs what you got, this is something i really wish i knew before i got my first ufo
since it's a clone it's not an autoflower so the right subreddit is /r/microgrowery which also has an informative sidebar
if you want to flower it you give it 12 hrs of light a day, otherwise you give it 18. if you flower now you will not get much. you could put off flowering and keep it in veg for as long as you want, trimming it back as it gets leggy.
you don't have enough light to do anything but keep it alive until you get a good light
this one would work https://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Plant-Light-Spectrum-Generation/dp/B01HI3AFYM
you can actually get a more efficient light for less money here http://www.ebay.ca/itm/100W-100Watt-High-Power-White-LED-Light-Heatsink-Cooler-100W-LED-Driver-LENS-/262253316319?var=&hash=item3d0f8408df:m:mwpcPILybO0GxGbdS-vIwjg
you could keep that plant alive and in veg until you've got your equipment together. maybe /r/spacebuckets is more your speed than a tent. the sidebar on /r/microgrowery and http://www.growweedeasy.com will help you do that
also you need to pot that thing up 3 weeks ago
