Well, you can't beat free!
This one I got is $54 on Amazon, and has a built in thermometer. I've used it dozens of times in the past three years, and it's been great. It's definitely more than the black enameled pot, but I've loved having it.
If you are just doing high-acid foods like jams and jellies then you do not need a pressure canner. You can use a water bath canner, but steam canners have also been approved more recently for the same purpose. They are lighter and use less water.
