Welcome to radio reception hell hole for Tundra owners that want an alternative...
any alternative that is stubby/small seems to have deficiencies... I settled on my 3rd option even though it did not solve the problem of reception but did solve the problem of flimsy antenna that is prone to break .. specially in car wash.
This is the one I settled on
Rydonair Antenna Compatible with Toyota Tundra 2014-2022 | 13 inches Flexible Rubber Antenna Replacement | Designed for Optimized FM/AM Reception https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F3WJMV7/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_AEJBCJ05MVD4CQM5XNJR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

This will reduce a lot of the static and interference you receive, but will also reduce the range of reception you receive from your local stations. I know it says for 2014, but it should fit your 2008, the antenna didn't change.
The stock antenna has a multi-purpose design. Increased reception, reduce wind noise and vibration, and act as a height indicator when traversing under objects (if your antenna hits it, the top of your truck will too).
