Could you link the one you went with? I have Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub and tried to use the USB port in the monitor and the computers wouldn't recognize it.
No, but I’m also the only who uses Plex in my house so I’ve never had to run it at the same time on other devices.
The one I got is from Amazon, by Sabrent:
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches (HB-UM43) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_w2JLEbQSDVA98
I use this one but you don't need anything this fancy. I just have some devices I wish to not turn on sometime.
If you just search for a 3.0 USB Hub, any of those will work.
What does the Pulse3D have to do with USB ports?
The only "requirements" is the the PSVR2 has to be plugged into the USB-C on the front, and the HDD should be plugged into one of the 10G ports on the back - that still leaves two ports for other things and you can use a hub like this too.
Seems to be problems with it running HDMI 4k@60hz with some people reporting only 30hz.
And may be some compatibility issues with other devices. But that seems to be standard fare for many docks.
Only has one USB-A port, so you would need a USB-A to C adapter for another USB-A device, or a port extender like the Sabrent USB-A 4 port dongle. (something like this): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/
Actually the 4-port version is more fit to what I need than 16 port, but I think that version is not externally powered, for some reason. At least [I can't see any cables here](https://www.amazon.com/-/es/Sabrent-puertos-interruptores-individuales-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=sr\_1\_5?keywords=usb+hub+individual+switches&qid=1653721588&sprefix=usb+hub+indi%2Caps%2C227&sr=8-5)
You should get a hub like this
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub, Slim Data USB Hub with 2 ft Extended Cable, for MacBook, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, Surface Pro, XPS, PC, Flash Drive, Mobile HDD (HB-UM43) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_0323SNXV0F7QJ8BYE5EA
Yes most accessories can just plug straight in through the USB on your PC.
With the T300 I’d recommend getting a cheap usb hub that has buttons to turn the ports on or off. This is because the T300 doesn’t have an off button, so you can use the hub to turn it off with a button press rather than unplugging the usb each time.
Also you can have all your things plugged into the hub and just one cable going to your OC.
I use this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
you can also get one of those USB hubs with on/off switches like this: amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
otherwise it will always be on when your computer is plugged in. There should be USB power options in the bios, which should be the easiest no-cost way, or the windows "usb selective suspend" way in power settings. Some ports and bios that don't give you the option are always on and you can't do anything about it besides the on/off usb thingies.

Cables were just basic USB 3.0 cables.
Yes, I use something like this for work
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches | 2 Ft Cable | Slim & Portable | for Mac & PC (HB-UM43) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_DCY3E5YS026P88BB9S8A
Idk about the bios problem but you can get usb splitters like this one for that problem
If your NETWORK is secure so are these files. I have nothing on this Network that IS NOT hard wired to switch. Any wi-fi attached devices run on a separate router and Network.
I use all 3 ways to connect but use the usb SSD attached via usb hub the most. Speed is fantastic and I move and store many 60-80 gig 4k Remux videos for my viewing in my computer room. Plays better on my TV I find than using plex.
Link for usb hub. USB HUB
If you need more just ask.
Looks like the one I have as well, which is this one:
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches | 2 Ft Cable | Slim & Portable | for Mac & PC (HB-UM43) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_EX0051WSMFCVMFGZZXB6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
As for a webcam I suggest a Logitech Brio, since it has Windows Hello and a 4k sensor, which you can use with the dell. As for a usb hub, this one is from a reputable brand, and you can simply command strip this to the back of your monitor and leave mice receivers etc plugged in. (If you need more than the ports the monitor has.)
Alternatively, plug it into a hub that has buttons to turn ports on and off like this... That's what I do to avoid issues with mine.
Might have to get this one. I’m putting my faith in you, you better be right.
I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
Worked fine on PS4 but plugging all the VR cables in does not work on PS5
It says charging not supported though. So can you not charge controllers with it?
There are people who seem to believe a powered USB hub makes a difference vs. an unpowered one. I will let you do your own diligence on that and hopefully another commenter will weigh in.
I personally use this one. I run a wheelbase, pedals, and shifter through it and have never had any issues.
Came recommended on this community and I’ve had no issues with it. My G29 runs into it so I can confirm you will have no issues in that respect.
Interesting so you instead using a front port on the case with a usb hub and haven’t had issues? I was looking to maybe pickup this to see if it works for me as well: Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches | 2 Ft Cable | Slim & Portable | for Mac & PC (HB-UM43) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_qTC-FbRKMJP7F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches
FYI only 1 port works for me without 7-14 error in Mixed Reality Portal, but still getting audio cutting in and out when headset is on.
I actually just ordered this to solve that issue! Plus you'll be able to turn off the LEDs with the button instead of having to unplug it from the back.
An FYI for everyone, just bypassed the 7-14 error using this non-powered USB hub I had laying around. Even worked with the USB 3 extension I was using with the Index previously.
On a separate note, my left controller thumbstick sticks in the up position. The controllers are a big disappointment.
I know how your feeling mate. I purchased this Sabrent 4 port USB hub and have had ZERO issues with it. Plus it allows you to independently select/deselect which ports are active on the USB connection. Hope this helps.
Impressive update, thank you! So your solution is now to cut-out the Sabrent USB Hub and find an alternative? // Tom
Mine always did so I added this: 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches
I keep my HMD and my HOTAS switched off unless I need them.
To be fair, you do see a lot of CGI on Amazon product pages but it's generally pretty obvious, particularly like low quality product renders on low-end electronics (example). I don't know if I buy the claim that all product photography is CGI, as doing it practically would take relatively little time provided you have the product on-hand, though spitting out a render doesn't take long either lol. I do know that some people make a living as a product photographer, so CGI can't be the standard across the entirety of product photography, even if it's used in certain places.
I have a 4 port USB hub I got off Amazon with a power buttons for each port. It's great for when my K55's RGB messes up and I need to reset it. I think this is the one.
Thanks for the link. I probably worded my post wrong - I'm looking for a USB hub that would look flush with the case instead of something like an external USB hub like this Sabrent 4-port.
Mi box s is amazing
A1: You can switch profiles
A2:Yes you can sign out and sign in
A3: usb port is 2.0 so dont accept apps to run fast here a cheap usb hub usb port is durable wont break but still have to be carefull with it
Would a USB hub with switches work for your needs?
Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
I imagine this could be used in-conjunction with an existing charge plug. The 4 port version less than 10 US dollars so is worth a try.
Here is my setup:
PS4, G29, V3’s, CSS
In order for this to work, I have to run a Drivehub with the Controller and the Wheel plugged in to their respective ports, and then I have to plug a USB hub into the ‘Accessory’ port on the Drivehub, and then I plug my V3’s and CSS into that USB hub (effectively adding more Accessory slots.)
Have you tried this?
I would get something like this:
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Data Hub with Individual LED Power Switches | 2 Ft Cable | Slim & Portable (HB-UM43) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HG-gFbV6E5A6H
And just connect both the MIDI keyboard and audio interface via USB. My laptop luckily has 2 USB ports but I often need more than 2 so I use that hub. It will be far easier than trying to figure out how to run that MIDI keyboard through the audio interface if that’s even possible.
Mine also has 4 ports and Im using 2. I bough it on amazon for 20$ canadian. Here is the exact name Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches (HB-UM43) I dont have any issues.
I bought a USB hub on Amazon that plugs into 1 USB port, but gives you 4 additional ports. Each port has a button that can be pressed to turn the port on or off. Here is the link - https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=sabrent+4+port+usb+3.0+hub&qid=1598697587&sprefix=sabrent&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWV...
Could be that your ports are switching to a low power draw mode and causes the rift s to mess up when it the exterior cameras demand more power.
Try this to have the Rift S port always on.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
had the same problem- get a cheap usb dock and it will work. The audiobox takes usb type 2 while macs now use type 3. hope this works for you
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O the from there try to get active USB extenders or a USB 3.0 repeater. Honestly tho u only need 3 sensors in ur setup and a 20 foot extender is too big because the most u can have it back is 14 feet for the 3rd sensor
Sorry for it being so late, but will something like this https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1547847606&sr=8-6&keywords=usb+hub work for the oculus sensors? Cause my new PC has less USB ports than my old one(New has 6, current/old has 8(only 7 work).)
I am using this hub.
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
For Flash drive, I am using the Samsung Bar Plus. Since the car can get hot, look for something with operating temp of 40C or higher.
So, I had this problem. I would plug my hmd into usb 3.0 and would be fine for a week then stop. I would switch it to 2.0 and it would work for a week. Got to the point where switching wouldnt work any more. Turns out that a lot of mother boards lie about their outputs.
Only cheap solution I have found so far is buying a usb 3.0 hub like this. Only negative so far is that when ever there is a black backdrop there are like staticky stars in thr background but they go away when the game starts. Why does this work? Who knows but its been going strong for 2 months now.
Sorry for the late reply - I ordered Left/Right, though I think Up/Up might've been better. In any event, I just recycled a small USB hub I had lying around (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O), and it worked just fine for both power and storage. I figure I would have to use a hub at some point, since the DVR memory supposedly requires that you connect it directly to the port. I... personally don't see why this is required from a technical point of view, so I can only presume it must be a disclaimer, since they don't want to get in the business of certifying extension cords and hubs.
I hope they announce some details about the memory capacity requirements for the DVR, as that would help me pick out what type of memory to purchase -- in the meantime, I'll just throw a 128GB on it for now and see how far that gets me... Uhh, once I get v9, of course. :)
Go into device manager and check under Human interface Device (HID) and see if any of then have a little warning sign next to them. If they do, then its your cables or the usb port it is plugged into. You can try uninstalling them and restarting Oculus home. Its a temporary fix though. Also, trying different USB ports or using this. I know. Seems weird but once I plugged my hmd into that I have not had a problem including after updates and power outages.
If under Universal Serial Bus (USB) and there is a warning sign by it then it means that the laptop has put that into a power saving type of mode that messes with the drivers. Right click on it, go to properties and go to power management and uncheck the box that allows windows to shut it off and click apply. Then you can just uninstall it and restart Oculus home.
Do you think a hub like this would work, or would I need to get the one with a power adapter for the x-52?
will the one you linked here work for exactly what i need? meaning i can plug it into my otg adapter, and it will automatically let me use my keyboard and mouse? cause i have usb ports already, but i dont think they allow for data charging, and they dont have a male port like this, they all have a wall outlet to plug into. just want to make sure if i plug this into the otg adapter and then plug a keyboard and mouse into it, it will work completely fine with my tablet. thank you. this says transfer speeds, but i dont know if that means data transfer. just clarifying before i buy, cause it doesnt specifically say data transfer.
so would this work for my tablet? plug this male port into the otg adapter and then i can plug my keyboard and mouse into it and i can use them both at the same time? not just for charging?
I've been using this one off Amazon. I like that it has the power switches for each plug and it's powered from the device. It's only got 4 ports so I'm not sure if that meets your need.
So I was thinking about getting the linked 5TB Seagate drive but I think people said you need a power source. Would this frequently bought together item be all I need to get it working? Power
Tbh I haven't notice as I rarely suspend this machine, but there has been some (very rare) cases when the keyboard simply lights on white and stop responding. That said, no matter the issue, no one persist after disconnecting and reconnecting* the keyboard (as long as ckb is running in the background).
*It may sound like I'm trivializing this action, but honestly, having my kb connected to one of these helps a lot.
Glad yours works! OP should be careful, though. I have this one and it doesn't seem to work :(. C'est la vie! I did pick up an Amazon Basics USB3.0 extender (3 meter) and will be testing that with my Touch sensor when it arrives later today. /fingerscrossed
will this allow me to use my hotas, g13, & ch pro pedals through one usb port or is it only for charging?
can i hook up to 4 different input devices to this and use them at the same time?
like a pro pedal, hotas, and G13??
I bought this one, but only because of the power switches and lights. Amazon Basics should be reliable though and I'd bet the Anker is ever bit as reliable too. Every brand seems to have nearly 5 stars though so it's more about aesthetics really.
I have my DT/DN running through one of these. Done all the FW updates and use Overbridge but only 4 ports
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JX1ZS5O?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Same issue so I added this: 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches
I keep my HMD and my HOTAS switched off unless I need them.
One way to do it is to disable "USB charging" or "USB on when power plugged in" on the laptop, so it doesn't send power to that USB port when the laptop is shut down or sleeping.
Another way is to buy a cheap USB hub with switches on the ports. Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/
I've heard that a powered hub internally can cause issues, so I used this unpowered selectable USB 3.0 hub internally to hold the PixelCade X, CoinOPS X and pinball table software. [This is the one that gets formatted and mounted by the ALU via FlashDrive X.]
I then have an external powered selectable USB 3.0 hub where I put my actual CoinOPS X games. I have one USB that has the SAUCE Arcade v5.0 images and another that has the console SAUCE images. I use the selector buttons to only activate the USB key that I want to run.
I've had success with both the SAMSUNG MUF-256AB/AM FIT Plus 256GB - 400MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive and the SAMSUNG BAR Plus 256GB - 400MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive Champagne Silver (MUF-256BE3/AM) for the USB keys involved.
this but also I zip-tied them all into a tiny milk crate so I can easily secure them and move them around as needed, put them all on a USB hub, and then got them a dedicated power strip for all the wall-warts.
I have the same camera working fine on a Mac Mini M1. The camera is running well on 11.4 and on the MacOS 12 Beta for me.
I am plugged into a Sabrent USB 4-port Hub since I have multiple USB devices connected to my Mini.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would make sure any software are drivers are loaded from Logtech's support page.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
Just dont buy the absolute cheapest one.
You could plug it into a USB hub that has power switches, like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/
You could cover the keyboard with something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/QQ-Acrylic-Keyboard-Protector-Anti-Cat/dp/B07WWBFL6J
I hear you. That's why I got this when I need more USB ports on them.
So I don't know why it works but it does for some reason. Someone smarter then me might be able to explain the magic.
This is the one I've been using for years.
You could also try this one for a few dollars more and it is powered.
PS use this hub in the glovebox
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches (HB-UM43) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
There is such products.
An alternative is to get a USB hub with physical switches on it like this.
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/
Ergonomic equipment! So important especially for long days in front of the computer: * Laptop stand (likely provided by work) * The keyboard and mouse work provides is basic. Invest in an ergo mouse and keyboard. * Angled keyboard stand * Wrist rest for your keyboard * Wrist rest for your mouse (sometimes comes with certain mouse pads) * Hmm, blue light glasses? If you don't wear prescription eyewear, it's worth looking into. * Try to find a sit-stand desk as well.
Many ergo stuff could be reimbursed as well, but the catch is that you will likely need to be a current employee at time of purchase to qualify. So check your company policy before you buy.
There are lots of expensive docks out there but I'm cheap.
I take a cheap USB hub: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/
And, if I want a one plug solution, plug it into a cheap USB dock: https://www.amazon.com/SSK-Displays-Multiport-Ethernet-Thunderbolt/dp/B08ZJBNCT6/
Now I have all monitors and peripherals with a single USB C connection.
At my vacation home I have this setup working using HDMI to an HD TV. I've never tried with a 4k monitor. This dock says it can handle that but I'm a little dubious.
Both USB ports on back are the same so that shouldn't matter - I just recall reading that HDDs should use the back ports because of speed:
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/ps5-usb-ports-guide/
I sometimes use a flight stick so I like to keep my front port available to that's why I use a hub/switch:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
As I recall I think I once got a message the camera wasn't attached but I just turned it off and back on at the hub and it came back without cycling the PS5.

Ok, so I do have questions I've been sitting on, waiting for this day. I'd be grateful if anyone could provide me with some answers, no specific to the jailbreak process itself, but more on the Linux side.....
First, I see this as a long shot, but once I get Linux up and running, could I make use of these items turning the ps4 into a functional pc (in theory)?
Secondly, is it more recommend to run Gentoo from a usb stick OR can I proceed with using a mechanical 2.5" 5tb HDD, prepped using Etcher, to run the distro from?
And finally (again in theory) once I get everything up and running, is it possible at all that I could connect my retail PS4 up to a usb capture device such as this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09D7XRXQ9/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_FFAAQCCZQK13SKTK5WVB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1, and connect with a Gentoo enabled PS4 to capture retail game footage for twitch? (I understand about compatibly and the device would need to be Linux compatible)
i currently use this sabrent hub for that exact purpose
I use one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's 3.0 and I plug 2.09 MIDI into it all the time. Works great.

Any tip for the shared control for the mouse and keyboard at all? My mouse is wireless, but the speakers and keyboard are wired... I was thinking of doing something like this, but for some reason I'm not thinking this will work. You can find my mockup here: https://imgur.com/a/9wP6C7H
Essentially, its:
This would allow me to simply disconnect the Docking Station from the laptop to the USB extension to allow me to have my keyboard, mouse, and speakers easily switch from one to the other.
However, if I need the monitors to show TWO things (and not have them mirror each other) when working, will this setup work? Or does this all come back to having to buy a more expensive video capture card?
I mean, at work right now, the one laptop displays on two different monitors that are extended, not mirrored... so maybe all this is overkill (but the docking station would definitely help to only unplug one thing and not the other?).

If this is confusing, my bad... I'm half lost right now to be honest lol
If you're using a USB webcam, and you're that paranoid, just unplug it when not in use.
Or get a USB hub with port switches.
This is by no means an endorsement, but this is the very USB Hub we used in testing: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/
Alright. As far as powered vs. non powered. Does it really matter?
vs.
for instance
They make usb hubs that you can toggle power to. I use one of these on my flight stick that has always On lights.
The hub looks like this one and I also have this
this is this to switch my mice, keyboard, webcam, and microphone between my PC and MacBook.
I've placed the hub underneath the desk and plugged everything that goes to the PC on it, this way I have only one USB cable for all my devices on the PC.
For the USB Switch, I have my monitor USB ports plugged into it, so I can also switch whatever I plug on my monitor USB ports switched between mac and PC.
Something like this?
They are both connected to this thing, because I don't have enough USB ports on my laptop https://smile.amazon.de/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use a USB hub with a power button to minimize plug/unplug action: usb hub
Yes, they are a good combo. And you have identified some important issues. Ransomware could wipe out everything on your external hard drives. You could recover most of your files from BackBlaze, but you'd need them to ship you your data. They'll pay you back for the cost of that once you return their device, but you're going to be down for quite awhile while you reinstall your OS and all your software and then restore your data.
With free drive image software you can avoid an incredible amount of hassle, aggravation and lost days.
Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows is free. It backs up everything on your PC to an external hard drive. Better yet, it preserves deltas day after day: incremental forever. You set the number of days. Typically 7 days is enough, but in case of an undiscovered data loss, more is better. Each day doesn't use much space - it's a delta!
Even better if is you have two large external hard drives. Connect them to this USB hub with push buttons for each port.
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
Configure Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows to "see" both drives. There's good documentation for that.
Each day, you press the buttons to turn off one drive and turn on the other. Veeam finds the active drive and backs up to it. You can skip a day or even get mixed up and Veeam will still back up to the drive that is active.
When ransomware hits, it wipes out your PC and the active external hard drive. But the other external hard drive is physically disconnected by your USB hub button. Can't touch that!
I love NASes, too. They do more than backups. But you don't need one for local backup if your external hard drive is big enough. A NAS is great for offsite mirroring to another geographic location.
I'm using this port:

I used this for my 9560 which had a USB A port, so this is USB A. I just use the USB A to USB C adapter that came in the box with the 9500 to use this hub.
I honestly like this one better:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/
Shorter cord (2 feet), but it's really convenient some times to be able to turn off a USB port, or just use it to check to see if the hub is getting power at all.
I have four of these, and they've never given me any trouble at all.
If you don’t have space in the back you can buy a usb splitter to get more usb things
Update: It seems that the Thunderbolt 3 Port mixed with my USB-Hub was causing the issue.
I was using this USB Hub mixed with a USB C to USB A adaptor on my thunderbolt port to plug in my mouse, external drives etc. It seems this might have been causing some sort of interference and making it so my ethernet port wouldn't recognize my network (Note: Using the USB C to USB A Adaptor with just my mouse makes everything work as intended so I'm guessing the issue is indeed with the USB Hub).
I'm assuming that once the laptop is on battery, the thunderbolt port switches off completely when the laptop enters sleep mode, while if it's plugged in it probably just goes to standby mode or something, so if my hypothesis is correct, the fact that there is a full power off/power on cycle, makes it so that the issue doesn't arise (maybe because one of the ports has priority over the other in terms of waking up order or something? I'm not an expert so I can't say for sure)
There have been compatibility issues with the Thunderbolt 3 port on the XMG Fusion 15 before so if you find yourself with the same problem as I did and you have anything plugged into your Thunderbolt port, I would suggest attempting to recreate it without any dongles or devices to it.
Here's a link to a post on this sub regarding Validated USB-C/Thunderbolt Docks for the Fusion 15
Amazon. $10.
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Here’s the same thing on Amazon for $9: Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches (HB-UM43) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
I have the Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches ($6 on Amazon using code 360OFFUM43) that I discovered from this post over on /r/buildapcsales. I have the two Rift sensors connected to it, but I have my headset connected to my Clevo's HDMI port and one of it's four USB 3.0 ports. When my wheel (T300RS GT), shifter (TH8A), and wireless mouse dongle are connected to the laptop USB ports, that leaves one open port on the hub for my cell phone charging cable, and of course when I'm using the wheel, I don't use the game controller, so I keep that switched off.
Side note- my laptop also has a USB type-C USB 3.1/Thunderbolt combo port, and I was going to get a hub that connects via Thunderbolt with 4 USB 3.1 ports @ 10gbps (around $40), but I couldn't pass up on that $6 deal, and it works perfectly fine for all that I use it for.

I bought this one almost a year ago. No problems. Love it, and the individual power switches are a nice touch.

Looking for something like this, but with USB C:
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
I was hoping for one with a switch.
Edit: Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
I have this USB hub that is horizontal and I like it. You can even power them on or off individually when connected.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_F6vFFbD99632X
I would personally get something like this; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=sr_1_5?d
The 2.0 Version may be better, if you only want to connect mice/keyboards, and nothing that would tranfer data at a high speed, since devices like mice and keyboards only use 2.0 anyway, and don't transfer enough data, or draw enough power, it could be a cheaper alternative; https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BWF5U0M/ref=emc_b_5_t?th=1
A larger version, with charging ports; https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0797NWDCB/ref=emc_b_5_t
I've used these with my One X and PC for years with no problems.
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Power Switches
Thank you man ! I only have a question, isn't the usb hub going to introduce noise or jitter or other audio problems ? Would it be fine if i don't find one with the switch and just power on the source i want to use ?
Sorry i don't know if what i'm saying makes perfect sense as i do know little about this, also that's the reason i'm asking here lol

it is not powered but could i use the usb cable attached to it to connect to a wall charger ?
I don't think there is a way to cut the power to these devices except with some kind of USB hub that has a power switch like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/
If you plan on buying something like that, make sure you shop around to find the best one for you.
A cheaper solution would be to put a towel over them or if the peripherals support it, you could use a software to turn off the RGB lights but you'll have to manually turn them back on again, which may be fine for you.
Get something like this, a USB hub with power switches: https://smile.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O?psc=1
Emergency shutdown at the push of a button.
Edit: Or maybe a dead man's switch setup that attaches to your belt like this: https://tech.michaelaltfield.net/2020/01/02/buskill-laptop-kill-cord-dead-man-switch/
I use a powered USB3 hub with individual switches on each connector for my Explorer, something like this https://www.amazon.com.au/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
>USB3 hub.
Will any USB3 hub work? How is this one from Amazon?

Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Would something like this work or do I need one with a power adapter? Also looks like I'll need an extension for the usb cable.
I actually had the same issue, and picked up one of these too (USB 3.0 hub) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O
I use a wired controller, USB mic and the SSD. SSD straight into PS4, and controller/mic into the hub. The hub's actually switched (per port) too, so I can turn the mic on and off more easily than before. If you can stomach the extra £8, give it a go!
I too dislike wireless stuff and have my Void Pro, st 100, K68, MM800 and Glaive all running off one hub. this one. though I'm sure any usb 3.0 hub or extension will do.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=psdc_430443031_t2_B07D5TTJLG
Yep, I've been using this one from Amazon for $10 personally.
Thanks for reaching out and trying to help guys....really appreciate it.
I will look at the box tonight to give you teh exact model.
Here is the splitter I bought - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I just noticed its clearly says....."Not supported with ANdroid Box"
I'm an idiot!!!!!
Awesome, thanks! So the iPad USB camera connection kit gives me a USB port; I plug a USB hub like this into it to get multiple USB ports; then plug both the Piaggero and Circuit into the hub with normal B-to-A cables. And I can configure this with something like GarageBand on the iPad then?
I have one of these https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/
I use it for microcontroller projects so I can easily toggle power that being said maybe something like this can work for you?
I just ordered this one based on other user's recommendation.
Or something like this if you don't want to splice any cables
All over on Amazon.
Sounds like an usb problem.
Go into "Device Manager" and look for the Human Interface Device (HID) tab and look to see if you have warning signs near two HID devices. If you see this (or having difficulty because the whole thing keeps refreshing or flashing) then your mother boards usb 3.0 are not strong enough for your headset.
Some minor fixes is to uninstall the troubled HID devices and restart oculus. This will fix the problem for a few days but will come back.
The fix that will be the cheapest is buying this its weird but it works for me.
The 30 dollar final solution is to buy and install This
Before doing all of this make sure you try the usuals: different ports, different cords, reseating the plug on the headset itself, and reinstalling oculus.
This one. It's not exactly what I would like, but I had it lying around and does the job for now
I just bought a few USB hubs like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
you are correct. Get a USB 3 hub that is switched. This also accepts a power input, but I haven't needed it.
This is what I use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O
keeps me from having to plug / unplug things
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Been using this for an year now. Have a HDD and a headset connected to it.
I got the sabrent usb 3.0 hub. No issues https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=twister_B07C1WZYQB?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
I'm not sure, it's this one usb hub
May a hub with power switches like this?
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O
Wouldn't it have been cheaper/easier to add a USB hub to your computer...?
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/
It also depends if you intend to charge things off of it, you would need an external power source as well. But if you only plan to use it for file transfers, or data retrieval, any non-external power source ones would be fine. If you don't need more than 1.5amps (to only to charge one phone/tablet and for usb devices or usb drives) something like this would be ideal. But if you need 1.5amp+ (let's say you need to charge your phone and a tablet which would require let's say 4 amps or 2 per each device) you would need something like this would be ideal.
Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual Power Switches and LEDs (HB-UM43) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_AiZJybGV1CT9M. Shame to have all that hardware and not want to spend an extra $15 + flirc for it to function
The one I have had four switches. I agree, one switch would be better but it still works really well. USB Hub Link
Here's the hub I use. If you're using a laptop I suggest getting a right angle USB adapter as well.
oh, i know thats a thing---it lets you share multiple USB devices between multiple computers. that is not what we are doing.
we have 3 usb printers [formerly serial only] and one computer, but "we" [other people i work with] only want one printer active at a time. this is because as a USB printer printing shit from a god damn access database which fast-prints prints to the default printer.
look at this serial switch-- the switch is similar to what we HAVE. honestly. http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mEgBlsWKGLdss1V1tKcqe8g.jpg
now lets pretend its 2016--shit, its 2016! you dont have to use serial switches anymore! or poorly configured access databases! or software built for an AS400!
as an aside, i told her this is an option--maybe. i think its a bad option, since the default printer is used, and you have to not just SWITCH to a printer, but turn off one and turn the other on--its begging for problems because until we test we wont know if the default printer is just the active USB printer or not. i also said that we are doing it poorly anyway. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_3?pf_rd_p=1944687562&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00DQFGH80&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=11XR8XQ5SNFWZ882VAE0
this should, imo, be done in software, not a serial switch, not a usb hub. its 2016. we dont have to have someone turn a dial to switch printers anymore.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O?keywords=usb%203%20hub&qid=1458269613&ref_=sr_1_3&sr=8-3 Would something like this work. I have enough usb 3.0 and 2.0 ports for everything but just curious if a normal hub would work.
This one but it doesn't seem to be powered as I had thought
I've got this one taped to the back of both of my displays (home and work) and it works very well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX1ZS5O
Use one of these
What are others using? Would this be an acceptable alternative from Amazon?

There I'm the link a commenter posted and claimed I was a sociopath. Searched comments on product can confirm that other users claim it works on Nintendo Switch.
Thanks u/pooka123 for the link. Sorry to waste five minutes of your time.
This here is 10 bucks. This just plugs into an already existing 3.0 port. Sounds crazy but this is how I have my rift set up and has worked for me for over a year now.
