A book that’s helped me with not just my porn issue but when I struggle with a particular vice is called “Saintly Solutions to Life’s Common Problems”. It’s available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Saintly-Solutions-Lifes-Common-Problems/dp/1928832377
Also, aside from having an accountable partner to help keep you accountable is focusing on the big picture. You have to deal with lust and porn till the day we die; however, maybe figure out why you want to quit and focus on the big picture. It is about having the right mindset and attitude. For me, I want to quit because I don’t want to bring my porn use into my relationship with my future wife and future children. I realize that my porn use is incompatible with my Catholic values and beliefs. I have quotes and texts that I keep on my computer when I need inspiration during the hard moments. For example, I have written on my computer desktop “my porn days of are over”. The reason this is important is because it is a mindset shift from someone who is recovering from a porn addiction and all it takes is another temptation to cause a slip up to someone who has began a new chapter in their life. And in this new chapter is a spiritual journey too and the days of the past do not align with the days of the future. Therefore, it has to be a new chapter rather than a recovering addiction.
I also created an action plan for what to do when I do slip up. It helps me to to focus on my thoughts as to the cause of my slip up and figure out possible solutions to prevent it in the future.
I have also used “brain buddy” to help me with my porn use. It is a phone app that counts the number of days of not using porn and gives me reasons why I need to quit porn and exercises to help me rewire my brain after my porn use.
