As for the individual products you can get the Samson C01U separate. It's a decent starter mic, only reason I replaced it was to upgrade to mics with XLR. Do note it's a condenser mic though, they're quite sensitive to background noise. If you're looking to record anywhere with ambient noise you might be better off looking at a dynamic mic

This is the best Value I have found in terms of microphone kits. The only thing this kit is missing is a pop filter. I've been shoutcasting League of Legends with the Samson C01U for about 9 months now, and that microphone has done everything I need and more. Here's a montage we made of my casting using the Samson C01U with the base tweaked slightly to bring it out a little more. If you're looking for something a bit smaller with great sound quality. I would go with the Samson Go Mic. At $33 the sound quality of this thing is unmatched. If you're looking for bang for you buck this either of these microphones are the way to go.

It was this mic. It's an entry-level mic but picks up just fine. I had to build a sound room just to use it because I wasn't used to mics that could pick up the sound of the air moving around it.
