Although I'm using a Z3c I think you should be happy with this one. Using it for a year now never had any problems - and it's fast, like really fast.
I doubt that. I got the same warning with a Samsung UHS-1 card:
Speeds are pretty damn good when I'm transferring on my PC, yet the Shield TV says it's slow.
Edit: Another question is: who isn't getting this error? And what model microSD are you using?
Raspberry Pi 2 is $30 and has more than enough performance to run Kodi.
You'll also need a micro SD card, I'd recommend the Samsung Pro series (32GB), it has great read/write speeds and Samsung is a great vendor in terms of storage at the moment. So tack on an extra $28 as well.
I have not had the need to run any VMs on my Surface as we have an ESXi server at work.
Storage has been a bit of an issue for me, but not for work-related things.
I only have the i5/4GB/128GB Surface Pro 3. I got a 64GB MicroSD for the slot in the back and it helped a lot, though you would want to get something with high read/write speeds if you'll be using it like I do.
I was amazed at how well this little thing performed. FFXIV is actually quite playable on my Surface. I get between 10-15 FPS in towns with low-mid settings. WoW runs pretty good, too.
Mine also gets hot relatively quick, especially with the brightness up to full. But it's in a dock for 90% of the time I use it.
Been using this one (Samsung 64GB PRO Class 10 Micro SDXC 90 MB/s). Fast performance, no unmounting issues like I've read about for other cards, transfer speeds between HD and SD card feel about as fast as if you transferred something between partitions.
You're referencing the D5833, which is the asian market version. This model is a D5803. You're going to want a D5803 for full LTE compatibility in the US. The US version bottoms out at $510, at best. Since there is still a wait list, they bounce between $510 and $600 based on availability. Also, even if I ditch all the accessories, the two-year warranty can only be purchased from Sony direct.
If you get a lower quality, non-brand microSD card, then sure I suppose. Here is the card that this phone comes with (it's dropped $4.95 since my purchase...) -- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IVPU88U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Zoom in on the back side of the packaging. Look closely.
Oh, they are for sale right now on amazon, for $60
This is just a slip up from Samsung that Sony noticed and jumped on the opportunity to screw over Professional users. Like they always do.
I meant Samsung. Read is 91.6 (from review)

Ah, I went for velocity instead of mass, but I'm using it in a RPi.
Get a "lagdroid" with a microSD slot.
You do realize it's just a physical adaptor right?
Your read write sucks because you're using a shit micro SD.
UHS I spec is a minimum 10MB/s write speed.
I use a 64Gb sandisk personally.
I have a 64GB Samsung Pro

I do plan to get a Micro SD card. I'm planning on buying this one because of the faster read/write speeds.
I got a decent amount of responses when I cross-posted this thread, look here.
This thread told me for sure that USB-OTG is possible with a USB 2.0 to Ethernet adapter. However, USB 3.0 to Ethernet seems like it isn't possible at the moment. So while you can connect, you'll need an adapter from MicroUSB to USB, like this one, and then you'll need a USB to Ethernet adapter, such as this popular one.
My only concern about it is speed - I'm hazy on the max speeds you would receive via this method.
