If you need one, I just posted a reply to the post a out a Samsung 256GB being available on Amazon for only $12 more than this deal. Double the storage for a small amount. Here's the non-affiliated link for you if you want too to make it easier for you to find:
Samsung EVO Select 256GB microSDXC UHS-I U3 100MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD Memory Card with Adapter (MB-ME256HA) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_M294EbVXYFM0H
All SD cards have some chance of failing, an off brand one like these Micro Center cards is likely to be higher due to their lower quality production and testing methods.
I've been using the Samsung Evo Select cards, the green colored ones here, they're the same as the red ones but the "Select" branding is Amazon exclusive so there should be no chance of fakes getting into the mix which is another problem.
I was gonna use it for a mexico trip, I was just recording everything and trying the editing on the phone so I can be proficient when I finally go on the trip!
I currently have a Samsung 256gb Evo and it's worked well for me! I use my camera as a dash cam for fun, and the only problem I have had is it got really hot and needed to shut down. It's 100f out so it being close to the windshield in the car makes it super hot.
Hmm, $10 for a 256GB microSD card seems very suspect. My parents have used Groupon in the past (a long time ago) so I don't know how reliable they are now.
However, judging from the reviews on that drive, I would steer clear from that. I would suggest looking for a drive from SanDisk or Samsung on Amazon or Best Buy instead. This one from Samsung is on sale right now and if the drive has issues (I would suggest running a test on the drive once you receive it), at the very least, you should have no trouble returning it.
This is what I got. Works perfectly, cheap, easy to use. If you want to move a game from the internal storage on the switch to the SD card you have to first archive it and then download it again.

Taking out the sd2vita at the wrong time could cause problems.
I would suggest you only use one.
Go buy either a 128, 256, or 512 GB micro sd card and use that to save yourself the trouble in the long run.
This listing has multiple options for sizes.

> can this be solved If I buy new sd cards and download the adam's image?
Yes! And btw , I also cheaped out in the begining with sd cards. I had all sorts of issues, specially with Adam. They would get corrupted. The moment I went with the Samsung EVO Select (amazon link but buy wherever you want).
Not the brand so much as whether or not the card has A1 or A2 printed on the front. Sandisk only makes A1 and A2 cards, which are advertised as being faster but in reality are reliant on additional hardware in the card reader itself that is practically nonexistent at this point. Another factor is that advertised speeds are always sequential read/writes which matters because games are not read sequentially. So for our purposes the benchmark that actually matters is Random I/O. And the cards with the fastest Random I/O speeds just happen to be the Samsung Evo Select.
Ive been using this one in my vantrue N4 all through hit summer sitting directly in it and now cold freezing winters and seems to still record and work
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS EVO Select... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
That might actually be a newer model than the one I purchased last June. The 128gb size of the 256gb green one I bought (link below) is no longer available. Plus, your blue one advertises slightly higher speeds, and the prices are the same. I'd check some reviews and do a few quick searches just to make sure, but I'd buy the blue one you linked.
first party games straight up do not go on sale. if they do it'll be like 40$ at the lowest.
>Is there a necessity for subscription on services like PSN?
kinda not really a necessity unless you play splatoon / mario kart / smash / online pokemon play but you do need it for cloud saves
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-microSDXC-Adapter-MB-ME256HA/dp/B0887P21Z2
grab this memory card if you get a switch because you'll need one since most games are around 10gigs.
Admittedly, I didn't look too closely at specs, but here's a Samsung for $35: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS EVO Select 256GB MicroSDXC UHS-I U3 100MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD Memory Card with Adapter (MB-ME256HA) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_TX8YRZKXJA5YCYDSXMAK
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/
Yup I use that one in mine. Got a 256gb just so it's not constantly wiping itself. Been almost a year with it now with no issues.
The updated blue one with higher speeds looks nice. Definitely worth getting for only a few bucks more.
The path of least resistance is to just pay Google $29.99 a year when the promo ends. If this stuff is important to you and you don't want to change the way you access ir, it's chump change.
You have no idea how much some of the people on here spend on storage devices. $$$$.
If you want to store heaps of data (think 10s of terabytes+) you need your own hardware to deal with it.
Your storage situation is different and doesn't take much. I mean damn a 256gb SD card is like $30 on Amazon - not that I'd recommend that as your only backup.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_05S7NRA61D43XNPEJ3XH
What’s the recommended brand/model/capacity of SD card to use for CFW? I was going to go with this 128GB Samsung Evo, but I’m wondering if I should get a “better” model, or if I should step up to 256GB.
This is the one I bought. SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS EVO Select 256GB MicroSDXC UHS-I U3 100MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD Memory Card with Adapter (MB-ME256HA) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_FNASHKTX00P26RJW9CWR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
As other pointed out Sandisk has issues with the iPods. I used these Samsung cards with the iflash quad with no skipping issues at all. They come with an adaptor to use with regular SPD card slots.
I’m using an old 240GB Intel 320 I had laying around from circa 2012. Works great.
Also using a Samsung Evo 256GB SD card. Also works great.
Samsung Electronics EVO Select... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I put my giant sample library on the Intel (a copy from the main drive on my PC) and then store all my projects on the SD card so I can easily remove it and make periodic backups.
Get this SD card.
I did a lot of research before I bought and not all SD cards are the same.
This card has fast data transfer which is needed for games. It's got protection from X-Ray scanners and metal detection if you're ever going through air port security
And it stores 256gb for around $30
Plus it's Samsung so it's a quality brand name.
I've had it for about 8 months now and it's been the best 👌🏼
Thank you so much the response tons of helpful stuff here!
Everymac says that it is a Late2008/7th Gen, but it sounds like the 160 didn't come out until Sep 2009? It has a Silver back, Gray front plate, and Black click wheel.
I didn't know any of that about the SSD option. I figured it would be a better option than the MicroSD route. iFlash Quad it is then. I wasn't quite thinking the china special for it, just something that's a lower tier. Going MicroSD I'm thinking something like a Samsung Evo which is a class 3.https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-microSDXC-Adapter-MB-ME256HA/dp/B0887P21Z2 and do 4x256, or maybe even 4x512. Not sure if there's a limit to how much I can add or how hard it is to add more later.
I'll check that software out as well. I don't mind doing the conversion before hand as well I just want to avoid having to permanently store two full libraries on my PC.
Here is what I have for the surface:
It claims a 100 mb/s read and 90 mb/s write. Is that just clever marketing? ie it will do 90 for a short period and then drop?
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-microSDXC-Adapter-MB-ME256HA/dp/B0887P21Z2
Get this SD card since it’s super cheap (especially if you have prime). it’s hard to have multiple switch games downloaded bc switch’s come with only 32 GB of internal storage. I highly recommend getting an SD card with it. this is probably the best one you can get for this much storage. Nintendo only prefers certain types of SD cards when it comes to their consoles. don’t know if I looked good enough but I only see people recommending games and such, but this will be needed later down the line trust me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_dlC_eozWFbHSDVWW1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Samsung Evo Select 256GB Micro SD card for Switch.
Has anyone purchased this memory card for their Nintendo Switch? I’m interested in it because of the fact it’s half the price of the Nintendo licensed counterpart and holds a healthy amount of space. I’ve read online and on YouTube some people experiencing issues with other cards potentially harming the console and burning up? Just wanted to get some feedback or if I should stick safe with Nintendo’s licensed product..
Any advice would be appreciated!

Yep, it’s legit and will work on the Switch without any issues. Samsung is another good brand and their 256GB one is only $25 right now
Both the card you linked and this one will give a very similar experience
Are Samsung EVO Select micro sd cards any good?
Amazon has a 256gb for $30.
Its a class 10 and seems like it would be good choice for a 400.
Anyone have any experiences good or bad with them?
I have bought 4 of these over time and have never had any fail. I have 1 in my switch and works flawless. Also a great price for what it can do.
For newbies looking for deals (especially on the Switch's vast library of awesome indie games) I'd also recommend you set up an account at DekuDeals and create a wishlist. You'll get alerts whenever something goes on sale. You can sort games by Metacritic score, most wished-for games, etc.
As you start to find those gems, you'll want to pick up a microSD card pretty soon. No worries about doing this later: all your personal save data lives internally on the Switch anyway, and you can easily move or redownload all digital game purchases to the card. When you are ready, look for a name brand card -- Sandisk or Samsung. The best bang for your buck right now is the Samsung EVO 256 GB, which is on sale for $32 at present and will last you for years if you are buying the bigger, AAA titles physically.
Better to upgrade your card and redownload your games (all your save data is held internally on the Switch).
I use the Samsung EVO 256GB card, which is on a killer sale right now.
A lot of people are saying you should get a smaller card to force yourself to offload your footage more frequently. Personally, I’d rather have the extra storage in case I need it and be self-disciplined when it comes to pulling footage off.
The 256gb Samsung Evo Select is on sale for $30 right now: Samsung Electronics EVO Select 256GB microSDXC UHS-I U3 100MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD Memory Card with Adapter (MB-ME256HA) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_eqqsFbRG48K0A. This is a rebranded version of the Samsung Evo Plus (all the specs and even the manufacturing process are exactly the same), which DJI recommends as a SD card you should use for the Mavic Air 2.

Using this one and a SanDisk 128gb I think. I haven’t had issue yet with either but I’m a Samsung fan and I’ve really never had issues with their cards. Maybe try this one instead.
I just got a 256GB Micro SD card (Samsung EVO SELECT - which is exactly the same as the EVO PLUS, the only difference being that the EVO SELECT is an Amazon Exclusive) for $39.99 USD (Regularly $49.99) two days ago. It's still on sale if anyone is interested, here's a non-affiliated link:

Yeah I actually bought a 256GB one for that same price on BF week. Here is the link to it,
256GB is cheap nowadays. One of the best cards is the Samsung EVO Select 256GB @ $35 on Amazon. It's not high endurance, but with that kind of real estate the same sectors aren't being abused too often. I like it for longer drives to SFO and capture the entire run.

Edit: punctuation
This one is currently in my camera and has worked good no issues!
Your welcome. The 16GB ram, oh yeah! That is awesome. And if you get the one with the 256GB SSD then no need for an additional Micro SD card.
Just in case if you need one, this is the one I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0887P21Z2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

EVO Select 256 for $34.99 from Amazon is what I got. Might not be best but it works fine https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Dd0rFb4N8SBF3
And this is the SD card I got
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS EVO Select... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It means a lot of people will learn the hard way that microsd cards with A1 and A2 printed on the front are actually slower than the alternative. A1/A2 cards are optimized for sequential read/writes - meaning photos and video. They also rely on additional hardware in the card reader itself which happens to be all but nonexistent at this point. But things like programs and games are much more reliant on Random I/O (non-sequential reads) which means you'll see noticeably better performance from a card like the Samsung Evo Select which is neither A1 nor A2 and has been shown to have consistently better Random I/O speeds. In simpler terms, an A2 microsd card from Sandisk is only going to be around two thirds as fast as the Samsung card I linked to. Also I just did a comparison of a few PSP games running on internal storage vs my 512gb Samsung card and saw no discernible difference in performance.
I use this one without issues. Pretty sure it came with the adapter, too.

This is a nice USB thumb drive as well if you’d prefer to go that route. It’s nice to save the regular USB ports for non-storage devices though since you can’t plug a hub into the SD card slot.

I got this one works great
256GB can be had for cheaper from Amazon (EVO select is the same as EVO Plus). 256GB was $25 around Christmas last year on this card, though, so it might drop down lower soon if you can wait.
I got a 256gb on prime day for $20, but I don't expect to see that sale again for a while.
what kind of SG card did you get?
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-microSDXC-Adapter-MB-ME256HA/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=micro+sd+card&qid=1625092029&s=electronics&sr=1-3
is kind i got as it also comes with adapter to let you easily move your pictures over if you dont have twitter account
No problem, if you don't need the 512 gb, here is a link to the 256gb which would have the same speeds: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887P21Z2/ref=twister_B08D89LRCB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Yes have been using it since, and it has no issues.
256gb micoSD was from Amazon, with Samsung as the seller
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0887P21Z2?psc=1
Thanks for the reply!
Best price right here imo. Buy this and probably won't have to worry about it for the life of the Switch.
256GB for $30 - Samsung Evo Select

They're almost the same price as flash drives though.
Right now Amazon has a256GB MicroSD for $25, and a 256GB flash drive for $33. Granted the former is on sale right now, but that's when most people buy them anyways, you generally don't absolutely need a new one overnight.
I reccomend just using the Wolfanoz 256GB raspberry pi 4 image from Arcade Punks, it comes with over 12,000 games and almost every console that can run on a pi 4
