Samsung VA panels are known to have blurry text for some reason. The top review on Amazon also complains of this problem for the old 34''. It could be a defect with you particular screen however.
I have switched to Samsung 34" 21:9 monitor recently and let me tell you - it's worth every penny. It feels much more productive than having multiple smaller displays. I've tried double 27", but I couldn't use them effectively, basically I worked on one and used the other for media player and other stuff you don't actually need to see and could as well be on other virtual desktop or minified.
Yeah I went through 2 samples of this monitor before finally realizing that there's no magical panel that has no backlight bleeding. The only 3440x1440 with 0 backlight bleed is the Samsung S34E790C. It uses a VA panel so not only does it not have any bleeding, but it also has pretty deep blacks unlike IPS.
I'm tempted to swap the Dell for that monitor. The only thing that might bug me about it is that it actually has a more pronounced curve than the Dell and apparently some gamma shifting towards the edges.
Sorry, this one

Note that this sale starts tomorrow and runs through the weekend. Last time it was on sale for $499 inventory went fast so I thought I'd post it early, especially since they are covering the sales tax this time making it an even better deal!

It's really sweet
I've owned 3x 24" 1080ps, and one 34" samsung curved display, and a 27" 4k ASUS so maybe I can give some okay advice.
So 3x 1080p screens is harder to run than 4k, and ultra wide. Also your GFX card has to have open ports for it. Bezels isn't too big of a problem but it all depends on who's using it. Looks like the bat cave when you go into your room, and see all the monitors lol. Very nice for multi tasking probably best option for that.
Now onto Ultra wide. I owned a Samsung 34" Curved 3440x1440 display. It looked amazing for a VA panel. Though I had like 3-4 dead pixels which kinda sucked as I spent like $1k on the display... Anyways movie watching experience is FAN FUCKING TASTIC. The 21:9 is niceeeee there are some games I refuse to play now that I'm back on 16:9 144hz 1080p monitor because it doesn't feel right now lol. Multi tasking is pretty good butttttttttttt I feel like you should always have like a secondary monitor for other things like Skype, Twitter, Discord, etc etc on the side because with a Ultrawide display you want to use the whole screen for gaming I feel. It's immersive. But I find the curve to be a gimmick to be completely honest. But for video editing, movie watching, gaming, and everything in general it's awesome with all the room. Nothing looks small to me. No windows scaling needed at all which I was quite worried about before getting one after owning a 28" 4k monitor. Beats the hell out of having multiple bezels, and taking you away from the experience from gaming. One big con I don't like about 3440x1440 @ 21:9 is BLACK BARS ether it's games or youtube that shits annoying to me. Not a lot of games support 21:9 like Capcom. But maybe eventually since it's starting to become a big thing.
4K monitor if you're interested in my experience. I owned a 28"? Asus 4K monitor. It was a TN panel but DAMN the colors look GOOD. It was nice the first couple of days but then I realized how much little 4k content there was, and YouTube videos looked like shit (year ago) inside a small black box. I also realized how stupid it's to own a small 4K monitor. You can't SEE ANYTHING. Everything is so small! If you scale windows text up some games like League of Legends fuck up badly. Also defeats the purpose of having a high resolution monitor because when you scale up you lose space to work with. So if you ever do decide to own a 4k monitor don't get a 24"-32." GO BIG! I'm talking about 40"-55" size. Shits amazing! If I had to choice between the 3 though I'd go 55" 4k monitor. Practically 4 monitors in one? Screen size wise. Doesn't beat 3x1080p in multi tasking though.
Some monitors to check out:
Triple of these Slim bezel screens (2414h is matte screen, and 2415h is glossy): http://www.amazon.com/Dell-S2415H-24-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00M9B3XZW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460076543&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+2415h
4K Monitors:
I wouldn't recommend 4k unless you plan on buying one of the new cards from pascal/polaris. But here are some-
TN, 4k, 28in, 1ms, moderately priced (~$500)
TN, 4k, 28in, 1ms, moderately priced (~$500)
Monitor wise, what are you looking for in a monitor? I do have a 144hz monitor and while it is incredibly smooth it wouldn't really offer anything for games like League of Legends, if that's what you play a lot. 144hz really comes into its own when you're dealing with very quick movements in games, so for things like FPS's they're glorious but MOBA's never really get fast enough for it to be a concern.
Have you considered going for one ultrawide monitor instead? Something like this. It's not quite as wide as two monitors but you still have a lot of width for multiple windows as well as having border in the middle like two monitors.
League works well on an Ultrawide, you end up getting a larger field of view which really helps your awareness, Here's an example of someone playing League on an Ultrawide, and here's an example of how much extra screen space you get to work with.
You'll be capped at 60hz but you get a really high resolution and a lot of screen real estate in return. Definitely worth considering.
the foot looks kinda like this samsung: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-34-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor-S34E790C/dp/B00Q7VCSGU/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1454072395&sr=8-11&keywords=3440x1440

I just got one of these and it's fabulous!
I play on this 34" at 3440x1440 and everything not only works fine, but is beautiful. Running a single client gives so much space to just enjoy the view, while still having plenty of room for overview, d-scan, chats, etc... but you can also run two clients side by side with enough room to make things work.

Its 1440p but its just an example of how ridiculous (in my opinion) the prices can be.
Here's a good option, and it's on sale on Massdrop: LG 27" 4K FreeSync, USB-C Monitor
(Use my sign up link if you purchase and we both get a reward!)
EDIT: I've also been eyeing this Samsung monitor although it's a little out of your price range
VA is the best in terms of image quality since it has accurate sRGB coverage and the best contrast. IPS and TN only cap out at 1000:1 native contrast ratio. VA monitors easily surpass that around 3000:1 ratio. i use this
