Isn't this normal price for the r9 fury on amazon? It has been in declined since mid last year
Pretty awesome card though for the price.
Vega is still a little ways away so if you want something now the Fury isn't a bad option. Amazon currently has it for $260. When Vega comes along and there is something that fills that gap you could always sell the Fury, take a small loss and call it a day.
amazon is also shipping/selling these (amazon.com is the seller) for the same price, though you pay taxes...
Not sure if it's the same card, but a version of it has the same price in amazon.
If it's not the same card, does any know which is better and why?
Not much better. I predict prices will only truly drop when AMD puts out something competitive. As of now, the 1070, 1080 (and soon the 1080Ti) simply have no competition. Unless you count the R9 Fury (which costs a bit less than a 1070, about a 15% decrease in performance, but uses a bunch more power, and has half the VRAM).
When Vega drops this summer, is when I would expect the NVidia prices to drop...if they will much at all...
I just checked out some AMD cards and the RX480 does look really good for its current price. I did also see that the R9 Fury went on sale for cheep too, I don't really care about the doom extra thrown in there, given the choice between the two which would you choose?
R9 Fury on sale. If you can find one around $250-280, or a 980 ti for around $270-300.
PSU is fine. 500-700w should serve you plenty. GPU is good, too. Should be able to last you for a while, if you don't plan on upgrading it any time soon. It's a solid card, but if you want to save a bit of money, the R9 Fury can be had for $280, which is a pretty solid card as well.
Hey Jim. Get the r9 fury from amazon. it's $250-ish and outperforms the rx480. or do what i just did and spend an extra 50 for the full fury x card https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-11247-03-40G/dp/B0196LWL3W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484014381&sr=1-1&keywords=r9+fury
Maybe you can order it on amazon . They say it will ship within 1-2 months and probably will honor the price
Are you dead set on a rx 480? I would get a r9 fury instead. I got the rx 480 8gb asus strix and was disappointed. I sold it for a fury x and its 4gb of vram has done fine for me so far even playing at 1440p while the performance has been so much better than the rx 480. I'm canadian so idk the prices for you but a quick look on amazon.com shows the r9 fury nitro sitting in between the 4gb rx 480 and the 8gb rx 480 in terms of pricing.
Amd's most powerful GPU isn't the rx 480 , Its the Fury x and the regular fury which can be found at a great price , It has its limitation being 4GB card and needing much power but it still wins over RX 480 in any game .
RX 480 is not really for 100+ 1440p unless maybe you lower graphics settings .
FYI - I just picked up a Sapphire Nitro Fury off Amazon for $309 brand new.
She's a big girl so make sure you have the case clearance for it. I did pretty extensive research and the Fury is within single digits of the Fury X. It's a great card, it's done > 100 FPS with everything I've thrown at it on 1080p ultra AND it's currently in a x8 slot (remember what I said about the case..?).
The one I grabbed on Amazon for $350 was the R9 Fury Nitro OC w/ 1050MHz clock.
So not only is it a Fury Nitro, it is the top end Fury Nitro.
Alright and just to confirm I'm talking about this video card. Everything should be compatible and work?
Fury > RX 480 for performance any day of the week. No question about it. It DOES use more power, and that air cooled one is really big, so make sure it will fit in your case.
Also amazon has it for $239 after rebate.
Also on Amazon. I hope it's a decent card, bought this over a 1060.
Good deal again by Newegg, Amazon has it too but 350$
If you want a tad more power you could go with my build. It has a R9 Fury instead of the 1060. The fury is faster than a 1060/980 although not quite as fast as a 980Ti or 1070. PcPartpicker doesn't have a link for the fury, so here's the amazon link.
Oh, and some Battlefield 1 benchmarks! Do take note that they are using a Fury X which is 5-10% faster than the regular Fury.

In order for this build to do 1440p we have to cut down on some stuff.Monitor is only 24 inches big and there is no mechanical keyboard.
Also you have a fury in there that produces more heat in exhange for better performance. It performs better though.
This build will not be pushing ultra 60fps but it comes very close to that. The "ultimate card" for 1440p would be the gtx1070

Fury for $259 but $20 rebate. I'd say go for the Fury then, or try to get a used Fury X for around your budget
These budget builds are really showing me that ya'll need to just buy a PS4 Pro... seriously. This build is exactly what the PS4 Pro was made to combat.
Non-overclock CPU. Micro ATX 2.0 board. 8GB RAM instead of 16 No hard drive (I already had to buy a 2nd SSD and its a 500GB) AMD Video Card that isn't the Fury (https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-11247-03-40G/dp/B0196LWL3W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487240384&sr=8-1&keywords=sapphire+nitro+r9+fury) A SHIT power supply that's going to whine every time you crank something up. (http://ncixus.com/products/?sku=137597)
I suggest you buy a PS4 Pro with your budget. You will build this PC and hate it after a year, just like the people who leave the motorcycle shop with a 250 HATE IT.
Instead of a rx 480, get the r9 fury. more performance for an extra $10 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0196LWL3W/ref=s9_simh_gw_g147_i1_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=BNGNWFSYY4EBG3XJNBAZ&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=a6aaf593-1ba4-4f4e-bdcc-0febe090b8ed&pf_rd_i=desktop
my system: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VLVByf
This Fury !X! is a hair more than you were looking to spend on the fury. It's got about 10% more performance than a fury.
I went $8 over, but that's without rebates (I'll include one with rebates too). The Fury comes from Amazon (this particular model doesn't have a link in pcpartpicker for some reason). As for why I chose the Fury, it's faster than a 1060/980 but a tad slower (and a lot cheaper) than a 1070/980Ti.

I'd personally go for this considering your monitor:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Radeon-Fury-Tri-X-Graphics/dp/B011LRKSNY
It's an upscale version, like an FTW model kinda thing. $300 is more the range of 380/390, there aren't any regular Furies under $400 right now (PCpartpicker says so, at least).
An AMD R9 FURY.
https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-11247-03-40G/dp/B0196LWL3W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1470450630&sr=1-1&keywords=r9+fury AMD r9 Fury- slightly better performance, but more heat and more power consumption
That's this one, correct? If so, then yeah.
What is ultra cheap? You can have it for $350
Who cares when they have $309 Fury Nitro???
