Check electricity prices before buying. I run 1 Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 8GB OC on my main/gaming computer (stock bios and OC) at about 650 h/s. I didn't buy for mining but after I started mining I won't go with another GPU right now.
Thanks, my bad. Still think I'm leaning a little more to that partially because I have a bad fan in my Sapphire r7 260x which is part of why I'm upgrading. Being able to swap in a cheapish replacement is awesome even if I don't bother going for LEDs. Also has the dual bios switch that I haven't seen in any other boards.
XFX also apparently has pretty good RMA and customer service in general?
The nitro does have dual HDMI but I don't plan on doing VR. But I am already using 1 HDMI port and kind of like the idea of having an extra HDMI and a DP port unused. Instead of no extra HDMI and 2 "extra" DP ports
I ordered everything for my first build about two weeks ago, but the video card I preordered off Amazon still hasn't arrived, now saying it's out of stock. Has anyone else preordered the Sapphire Nitro+ RX480 and had it arrive? Everything I can find online seems to say it's already released.
Also, I unknowningly got the model that only clocks up to 1306MHz, instead of 1342MHz. Should I cancel this order to try to get the other model, or is it trivial difference?
For the case, since you have a Micro-ATX motherboard you could consider smaller Micro ATX case as well like the Corsair 88R.
And for the graphics card, get the Sapphire RX 480 Nitro instead of the reference one.
It is out of stock at the moment so if you really need to build this PC ASAP, just get everything but the GPU and use the integrated graphics for a while.
Thank you for your help! Is there any information on when the nitro will be released? I found it on amazon here, but there is no date given. I am leaving for school in mid august and want to have it complete before i go.
for the nitro + 8gb https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-NITRO-GDDR5-11260-07-20G/dp/B01J1M4BZ2?ie=UTF8&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ref_=olp_product_details just gonna keep my reference one I think. Only issue I had was with Stellaris and its happening less and less now. May pick up another reference and crossfire if i can ever get a second one.
Sapphire nitro rx 480 is now available for preorder on amazon

New parts for upgrade arrive soon.
Putting in an i7 4790K and a Rx 480 with a 550 watt psu on a GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H Rev 3.0 motherboard.
Should I uninstall the drivers and software for my Sapphire r7 260x before installing the 480?
Will I need to reset the cmos when I install the new CPU or should I be able to just drop it in and turn the computer back on.
And lastly is this a good enough guide for overclocking on the B85M chipset? Not looking for an aggressive overclock but I'll have a K version chip, a decent cpu cooler, and head room on the PSU so it'd be a waste if I didn't.
Thanks!
Edit: Turns out I've got a Z97 board to throw into the mix what's the best way to move the windows license over?
This is probably the best card at your price point (It is 6 CAD more than your budget...): https://www.amazon.ca/Sapphire-Radeon-NITRO-GDDR5-11260-07-20G/dp/B01J1M4BZ2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1483416305&sr=8-2&keywords=rx+480+nitro%2B
Would this be it? Is it overclocked at 2000mhz?
Alright, nice thanks :)
I'll finally go with this one then. Thanks again for everything :)
Actually, it already dropped https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-NITRO-GDDR5-11260-07-20G/dp/B01J1M4BZ2/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1469506870&sr=1-3&keywords=rx+480+nitro%2B along with PowerColor cards
