I probably won’t be much of a help but ye. Friend of mine put things similar to those with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000AQODM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_FHB7YTXM3B85JM8M76TY this onto his wall. Not sure if it would work for you since those can’t handle that much weight but they are not permanent.
Preferably you need the cap to seat the thumb covers properly.
but you could use some thing like Uhu Tac to apply it to the controller and keep it there until you do find a thumbstick replacement.
>I use Patafix. But I honestly don't know if it's used or sold outside Germany.
UHU tac for people from the US.
Use poster putty. Uhu tac
You can shape it super thin and the little holes on the thumbsticks work great for giving it extra grip. And you could just add some extra to insure oversized thumbcaps covers stay in place.
It wont do you any good. The teeth on the bottom are form-fit to the holes in the plastic, so removing the caps or even pushing new caps into place can damage the teeth on the underside and ruin its gripping capabilities. Making it more susceptible to coming back off.
Find a pair of silicone caps you like, then get some Poster tac. You can sandwhich a little of it between the silicone cap and the bare thumbstick plastic and it will grip the holes and prevent the cap from coming loose.
The UHU tac stuff is also adhesive/residue free. So it comes up clean. And if it comes off eventually, you can just rub it between your fingers for a minute and goes right back to its tacky self.
It looks like you might not be in the US, so you might not be able to order this, but something like this might work.
It's cheap, and one package should last you quite some time. Just rip off very small bits to stick your board to your battlemat. That should keep it from slipping around.
This would do the job, although I myself uses one from Faber Castell, any of those removable adhesive putty should do the job. Just use a tiny bit to secure the part.
Some kind of removable poster putty does the job without risk of costly damage to drywall.

Won't discolor or damage vinyl/plastic.
No residue, easy clean up, and you can bring it to a "new" state by just rubbing it between your fingers.
Stuff is magical.
try using that poster putty to lift the graphite off the page...

UHU Tac https://www.amazon.com/removable-reusable-objects-surfaces-99683/dp/B0000AQODM aka poster tac, will stick reasonably light stuff to textured walls and let them come off again pretty well.
you might know it as the white stuff that comes with glow in the dark stars.
I'm using this here
It's completely removable.
If you cant get it to fit properly my normal recommendation is to get some basic thumbstick covers that you dont hate, then attach it to the bare plastic stick with some of this poster tac.
It should hold quite well, and while its very possible the cover will come off eventually, you can just peel up the tac, roll it between your fingers for a second and then reapply it. The stuff lasts for years in the open air.
