Combination of a rounded scraper and a hair dryer to loose the stickers up...and luckily, NES labels have that plastic coating over the tops, making the process a bit easier.
If it's the sticker scraper I'm thinking of, I have one right in front of me and it's plastic and shaped kind of like a thumbnail:
I'm thinking of these plastic ones
which I've had for like 20 years since I worked in retail they're awesome.
I hate that as well, for me if I rush it I end up messing it up so I go slow with good results. If you can get a perfect can and or catch lid out of a roll just use that one. There is also stuff like this https://www.amazon.com/Scotty-Peelers-Label-Sticker-Remover/dp/B0068QIQVA
I use scotty peelers I had laying around. They were made to remove store price stickers. They have a thin sharp edge that really gets under the print. https://www.amazon.com/Scotty-Peelers-Label-Sticker-Remover/dp/B0068QIQVA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1491591135&sr=8-2&keywords=sticker+remover
While this is a great tip, try these out too. I removed registration numbers that the last owner placed on top of trim stickers on my boat. So awesome. Haven't had to use the metal one yet.

In the case of Intel CPU's they have a clamp to hold down the CPU. Based on Google images the AMD CPU's remain not having said clamp and rely on the heatsink entirely for being held in.
I personally would ensure sufficient isopropyl alcohol and chisel at a corner of the CPU. Odds are based on the symptom the compound is not dry but the sheer paste adherence just needs to be broken. Be creative into something that can lift a corner (probably best weakpoint). Something like a sticker remover would probably work GREAT.

Get yourself some Scotty Peelers. The plastic ones are pretty safe for surfaces.

These work pretty well too, and your money might go farther

The label can be safely removed. Here’s a video link courtesy of Eldoug’s Video Game Cleaning (u/Eldoug)
Required materials:
These materials will go a very very long ways in game cleaning. The Bestine is like isopropyl that doesn’t damage paper but obliterates adhesives and goo. Speaking of goo… don’t use Goo Gone. It’s oil based and while effective at removing adhesives, is also effective at permanently damaging paper.
TL;DR: use a peeler to get a corner up, use the cotton swab with Bestine and rub it back and forth along the under side of the sticker, destroying the adhesive bit by bit until it has fully lifted the sticker.
Scotty peelers and wipe with alcohol.
No such thing as a hard remove sticker.
>xmrstickers is probably awesome for smaller orders but you wouldnt go and buy 500 stickers from there to plaster all over your city
mainly because that would be about 1/3 of my supply in one order, and my baseline sticker cost is much higher than yours. I hope to one day be able to move bulk premium stickers! But I just started last June, and have spent exactly $0 on ads. I rarely post. That's my own fault, obviously.
But I can assure you, eggshell stickers are *much* more suited to be plastered over a city - The reason I chose eggshell stickers as a supplier is specifically after seeing a graffiti artist in a major US city putting up dozens of stickers and then later that week seeing city workers struggle to remove them, often times giving up leaving only a corner removed.
[one of these](https://www.amazon.com/Scotty-Peelers-Label-Sticker-Remover/dp/B0068QIQVA) will make quick work of cheap stickers applied outside. of course, anyone dedicated enough can remove a sticker. but will an anti-crypto citizen be willing to spend 30+ minutes removing one? Nah. The result is stickers that, on average, survive in public far longer than any other brand :)
Found them! Scotty Peelers Label & Sticker Remover - 3 Plastic Red, White, Blue and 1 Metal Blade with Cover https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0068QIQVA/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_GMGQB9MYJ5KH319HVZ7P?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It looks like these things that I bought for scraping off labels.
Heat them up with a hairdryer and use a "scotty peeler."

If any residue is left behind you can use rubbing alcohol to get it off.
It's pretty easy if you take your time. Plan on 4 hours. Make sure you buy a set of Scotty Peelers (https://www.amazon.com/Scotty-Peelers-Label-Sticker-Remover/dp/B0068QIQVA) so you don't mar any of the plastic finishes.
Watch their Forester installation video that is on the product page. It's VERY similar for the Ascent.
If you want to see a picture of what it looks like at night just do a search on the Forester subreddit (/r/SubaruForester) and or the Forester forum (https://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/). I saw someone posted a picture of how bright it is there.
I'd try these, they work well for this type of thing. https://www.amazon.com/Scotty-Peelers-Label-Sticker-Remover/dp/B0068QIQVA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495114588&sr=8-1&keywords=scotty+peeler
Oh man. Dull Razors are a great way to get tetanus. Use ScottyPeelers which are less likely to slice you up if you slip!
Starting with a hairdryer, here's exactly how to do it:
And you might rarely need a razor.
These peeler tools + Un-Du adhesive remover fluid. I've heard a heat gun will do the trick too but I'm hesitant about the risk of melting or damaging the item. The Un-Du stuff works like a charm, it's some kind of alcohol-based chemical that dries extremely fast.
My technique is to first try and just peel it off by hand, sometimes works if it's a newly-applied sticker or one that is very old (30+ years). If not then I apply a generous amount of the remover fluid so the whole sticker is soaked and then start scraping away, usually you'll have to re-apply fluid once or twice because it evaporates so fast. Once most of the sticker paper is gone there will still be some residue, I pour fluid on once more and rub it off with a paper towel. Check to make sure there's no residual tackiness left (if there is, just go at it again with the paper towel).
Once you figure it out, it only takes a minute or two. Hope this helps.
These are awesome! Use goo gone or a magic eraser (carefully) on any leftover residue.
Scotty Peelers are amazing! I bought some of them specifically for removing stickers from Gamestop cases after I bought them after I got tired of peeling them off by hand, having sticky residue left behind, then having my game cases stick together in the shelf.
Any small amount of residue left behind can easily be wiped away with Goo Gone and a washcloth.
