Good to learn. Thanks. Looks like a definitive source.

If you're hellbent on seeing the bugaboos you could haul some camping gear to applebee dome and hike to cobalt lake.
I've had friends that did part of the skoki loop and loved it. Some of the mountains there are easy to scramble as well.
I also had friends do (I only did 20km of it): starting at the chateau hike saddleback mountain to paradise valley (has campsites but can be pretty bad for aggressive bears depending on the year), then go through the pass beside mount Temple into the valley with morraine lake. So the route takes you from Lake Lousie to Morraine Lake. You could optionally scramble Mount Temple, Mount Saddleback, and Mount Fairmont along the way. They're considered moderate difficulty and pretty well travelled. Though I would definitely research scrambling if you're not familiar. They can be bypassed though. That route could take you two days, my friends did it in 1 extremely long day. You get to see three seperate valleys, 3 blue lakes and giant steps.
Lake O'Hara is apparently an amazing area. I've had it recommended to me several times. They limit the number of people so you need to book a seat on a bus which I think leaves from Lake Louise. Once you're in there is lots of trails to do.
I also love the highland trails that connect the teahouses on lake louise. It's easily done in a long day. You start from Chateau lake louise and head up to lake Agnes teahouse. You can scramble Mount St. Piran, Devil's Thumb, as well as hike up Little beehive and Big beehive. Plus there is too great (and insanely busy) teahouses located on the trails. The main trails tend to be busy, but the scrambles are less so. Niblock can also be scrambled, but it's far longer and quite challenging.
I hope that kinda made sense... I worked in Lake Louise Summer 2012 and 2013 and will be back this summer. I haven't been able to do any overnight trips, but I've done tons of day ones in the area. Primarily scrambles.
I would reference trail maps if I were you. If you'e interested in scrambling this is THE book to read: http://www.amazon.ca/Scrambles-Canadian-Rockies-Alan-Kane/dp/0921102674. He talks about every mountain I mentioned. Piran or Fairmont are great ones to start on. I think Piran took me about 2.5 hours up from lake Louise and 1.5 hours down? (after I had been at altitude for a month, I'm also from Ontario). Mount Temple (the short way) took my friend 6 hours up and 4 hours down. A mountain that large you need to plan for cold weather at the top.
BTW, best part of hiking in Alberta compared to Ontario: NO BUGS! (except for a brief period in June but they're not really as bad).
