This is something I used multiple times myself and does wonder for all sorts of scar minimization - sea buckthorn oil. It's not very common in north america as it is primarily grows in europe and asia but if you can get your hands on it via online (i.e. http://www.amazon.com/Sea-Buckthorn-Berry-Oil-1-76-Ounces/dp/B004BKLHFW) it works wonders. It helped me recover from severe scars from burns. Usually apply twice a day for a few weeks to the affected area. Staying out of sun and all the other tips still apply.
Sure.
Just a few things first: If you're located in the US, you have lots of great purchasing options. Off the top of my head, there's:
Ingredients to Die For
Eden Botanicals
From Nature With Love
Garden of Wisdom
LotionCrafter
(None of these links above and below are affiliate links, btw)
But since I live in Canada and shipping can be a pain in the butt, I'll tell you where I got each of those three oils:
This is the seabuckthorn berry oil. If you have time, you should read the Amazon reviews, because they're pretty entertaining. There was a weird one on the Amazon Canada website from a guy who said he and his wife used it as a personal lubricant. He posted it using his real name.
Anyway, when I first bought it, I felt silly buying it from Amazon, but I don't care anymore, because it really works for me.
If you're not interested in purchasing your SBBO on Amazon, I would suggest Eden Botanicals. An ABer and redditor who really knows her oils really liked Eden Botanicals. Be sure to get the CO2 extraction.
I got the Black Seed Oil from Garden of Wisdom. I've also purchased it from Best Natures Cosmetic and was pleased with it.
I also got my pomegranate seed oil from Best Natures Cosmetics, but I don't think I would purchase it from there again. I'm intrigued by Garden of Wisdom's claim that they have the best pomegranate seed oil!
Hope that helps!
