Are we talking snorkeling? Or rainy days?
I think this is an easy all around.
Seiko Dive Watch
Not a watch wearer, but how r/buyitforlife do you want it?
For as much as I want to agree on the SKX, he did ask for a dress watch.
Maybe look at the Seiko dress diver, SNZH55 for $140, and get him a nice bottle of scotch with the money left over,
Hello gents, I'm trying to decide what watch to buy. My budget has a hard limit of $400 (weird right?) I've read the watch buying guides and there are some divers there that I like but lately this watch has been catching my attention. Does anybody here own a Citizen at4010-50e? Any reviews? Can I switch out the straps for nato straps or even leather ones? Also, any recommendation on good divers?
You should check out the Seiko SNZH55.
Metal bracelet (that can be swapped)
Way under budget, around $130

This also works
And this is 42mm, but looks distinct from the other options, so i'm throwing it in.
Seiko Men's 5 Automatic Watch SNZH55K1 [link]
I'm also trying to get the "Spectre" look on a budget and came across these two watches: Seiko SNZH55 or the Seiko SNZH57.
Then you need to add a 22mm NATO grey-and-black strap and you're sorted.
