I got this watch for Christmas (Link)
It came with a horrid red alligator skin strap and I finally got around to swapping that out for an old worm brown leather band I had laying around from my Timex, I think it looks great on this watch. Excited to finally have a watch with an off-white face, I really love it! Hope you all like the pictures and the time-lapse. I did not even realize the watch had a hour hand on the chronograph before I recorded this.
If you compare this link to the amazon one in the OP though they look different. I can't tell if it's just the straps and different lighting of the face or if the colour of the face is actually different.
I looked around and apparently the P1 means made in Singapore so they pretty well have the same model number
Hey r/watchexchange. I bought this Seiko about a month ago because I wanted to try it out. Thought it was going to be a catch and release when bought so here we are!
The case is 38mm and band width is 20mm. This watch comes with the stock calf strap and also a Lakehouse Leathers 20mm tan strap.
It’s a Quartz watch, but has a great chronograph movement. If you’d like me to post a video let me know. More info can be found on the amazon page here
Looking for $100 for the whole package shipped w/ box Can take more pictures with the box and manual if needed. I've sold/bought here before with great transactions on both sides.
Does anybody have any experience with the Seiko SNDC31? I like the watch, but I'm wondering about some of the colors. How much of an off-white is the face (it seems quite drastic online but I feel like in person it may look different)? Also, how is the band? It seems to have quite a reddish tint to it online.
I apologize if the formatting is off, I'm on mobile.
Seiko saved us all.
Please don't judge me too harsh, but looking at replacing a DW watch..
I browsed /r/watches top of all time and was embarassed after reading this hilarious post.. So I'm here to make amends to the watch community. I've scrolled through posts here and read the side bar to get an idea of watch quality, use case, materials et cetera.
I'm looking at something affordable to begin with (sub $300 but if I can find something much cheaper that would be nice) with either a good looking nylon or leather band and most importantly, a watch face with the parchment or slightly white-yellowish tinted look like this one.. The size seems nice, I don't want a big watch, but the three small dials make it look too busy. I'd like something similar to the one linked but that's a bit less ''busy''. Preferably the regular watch dial with date and maybe one small dial like a timer, but not 3.
Thanks for any help!
Seiko SNDC31, I'm a sucker for cream/beige dials. Seiko Men's SNDC31 Classic Stainless Steel Chronograph Watch with Brown Leather Band [link]
Good points. I'd love your further thoughts on a companion for the Bambino. I'm partial to beige and cream dials, like a calendar, and prefer simplicity but am open to a good looking not too flashy chronograph, like this 38 mm Seiko Seiko Men's SNDC31 Classic Stainless Steel Chronograph Watch with Brown Leather Band [link]. On the other hand (as it were) I really like blue and green dials and have been drawn to the green dial Bambino (like I need two dress watches, never dressing up), and also to blue dial solar Seiko and Citizens. All that said, I'm very open to other ideas and really appreciate your time, insight and encouraging way of communicating. Edit I also like this brown on brown, looks like I'm laying out a mini collection! Seiko Men's SNN241 Stainless Steel Watch with Brown Leather Band [link]
I'm thinking of purchasing a watch, my price range is anything up to around £150. I've found a couple of Seiko's I like on amazon:
Are there any similar styles out there? Anyone heard good things about the one's I listed?
Zeppelin is made by PointTec, which also makes Junkers watches. They are fairly well respected for a budget pricepoint. I'm not sure which particular model appeals to you, but you might also like the look of the Orient Symphony, Esteem, or maybe the Monterey. Seiko also has the SNDC31 and SPC131P1 that you might like, both of which are quartz.
This has come up before. There is a 38mm Seiko if you can find it, but the vast majority of chronographs will be over 40mm. If you don't have any hangups about ladies watches though there are more options to be had. For example this or this
This Seiko SNDC31 is legit and under budget.
it's quartz but what about the seiko sndc31p1? it would also save a nice chunk of change off your budget. it's 40mm
Beyond the novelty of owning a wooden watch there is nothing remarkable about that watch.
If you really want a wooden watch check with the seller to see if they have a cheaper basic three hander.
If you need a chronograph then i am sure there are better quartz offerings from seiko and citizen and even a seagul chronograph.
I would recommend the SNDC31
Not my cup o' tea (nothing to do with the brand, I just dont care for the design elements.) In that price range, for a chrono quartz, I'd go with something like this: [link]
