How important is 20 bar water resistance? Because 10 bar is good for everything outside of actual diving, and even for that, it'll probably be fine. At 10 bar, with your price range, you have a lot more options.
At 20 bar, the only thing that comes to mind is the Seiko SSC017 which is a divers watch.
Not all of them, it seems. This one has a 24 hour dial, but reviews say that it's locked to the 12 hour hand and can't be used for a second time zone or as part of the chronograph. To me that's a damn shame because it's gorgeous, but I can't stand redundant features like that.
Pool or salt water? If salt, get a beater like this Seiko. www.amazon.com/Seiko-SSC017-Solar-Stainless-Steel/dp/B00756GRUE
As long as you aren't running the chronograph itself you should be fine.
Minimize showers because steam can weaken gaskets and cloud the crystal from behind.
Try Sinn watches if you want a durable Chrono diver.
Tell me about it, holy shit. Just 2 months ago I remember staring at my Jacques Lemans chronograph that I received as a graduation gift and wondering if there was a large subreddit devoted to watches. Boy, was that a mistake. Pair that with my new internship that I started last week? Let's just say I'm still decently broke despite my shiny new job.
I started 2015 with a stunning Rotary auto, Seiko 5, Orient Esteem, and an Armani Exchange chronograph (a gift from my ex). My friends also bought me a watch box for my birthday so now I will be collecting even more vigorously.
I have decided to start saving money and budgeting, so I will be mainly focused on straps and working with what I have, but my next two purchases are already planned out: this Seiko will be purchased as my first dive watch, and then I will be saving up for a second hand Rolex Datejust 1603.
At Costco they were $159.99 ($190 with a $30 instant rebate), but on Amazon they are $190 with free shipping.
So that style is a combination of a Divers watch and a Chronograph. For not too much more you can get the upgraded Prospex version of that watch. Here are some examples of it.
