My name is Etzel_ and I'm a seltzer addict.
I have a drinkmate and it's the bee's knees. It's the rebranded iSoda and it's cheaper than the soda stream. I have two 20 oz paintball CO2 tanks and an adapter for $15 on Amazon.
Each tank lasts about a month and cost around $5 to refill. Definitely worth it. Here's the adapter:

You should get them this instead.
Its an adapter that they can use to convert paintball co2 tanks into Sodastream tanks which can be refilled for a couple of bucks at sporting good stores as opposed to 30 bucks for the sodastream tanks.
Yeah, it's pretty straight forward. You just have to make sure you buy the right sized tank for your Sodastream. If you tell me which Sodastream you have I can tell you what you need.
Edit: here's the adapter I used:

I used a 12oz tank. I have the Fizzi. You can have the tanks refilled at Dick's. I think it cost me like $3 a tank the last time I had them refilled and I think like every 5th tank is free.
i hope u're not wasting money on their cylinders like i did when i first got a sodastream. You can adapt bigger co2 tanks!
At first I started with using 32oz (the extra large) paintball tanks, refills were about $6 but then I discovered 5lb tanks.
I adapted the 5lb tank and now each tank lasts literally hundreds of carbonations and a refill exchange costs $17 - seriously only need to refill every 20+ months and i too, drink a bottle a day!
The only caveat is after you carbonize you have to shut off the large tank and release any co2 left in the hose or it'll taste kinda funny on your next carbonation but it's a small price to pay and the 5lb tank literally lasts nearly 2 years if you carbonate once a day.
So what am I doing wrong?

That's the adapter.
I have been reading online and found that you can order a piece that accepts 20 oz paint ball CO2 tanks and use it in place of sodastream brand tanks. So instead of paying sodastream 20+ dollars for a refill in CO2, you can get the paint ball tanks refilled for about 4 dollars at most places. It’s just a matter of time before I am able to find one of those places in the area lol. It’s also food grade safe!

The CO2 tanks are 12oz canisters from Dicks (probably any 12oz canister would do). Here’s the link to the adapter

This is the one I got on amazon. Don't know how much the extra shipping to Australia would be though.
I don't have a sodastream myself so hopefully this helps but this is what I found with a quick search on google for "sodastream paintball". :)
