The Epos/sennheiser “Game Zero” is basically closed back Pc37x. That should be close. Available on Amazon also. EPOS I SENNHEISER GAME ZERO Gaming Headset, Closed Acoustic with Noise Cancelling Microphone, Foldable, Flip-to-mute, Ligthweight, PC, Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Smartphone compatible.
I'm going to guess US based maybe ?
If so the Sennheiser G4me Zero is cheaper than the Razer Hypersense V3 and much better quality, Both build quality and audio wise as it's from a company that solely focuses on sound and not profit.
Is the game zero closed back a good shout? Looking for a good closed back headset/headphones and don't really want to spend 230 on a DT 770 plus extra on a mic. This was the one I was looking at:
There's nothing that completely blocks the sound, however as was mentioned before you can combine ear plugs (mine can cover up to 24db, foam can get to ~30db I think) and headphones/headsets over them.
For headphones/headsets, I find it more useful to have a passive noise-cancelling (meaning they are physically made to cut out sound) than active noise-cancelling (technology that allows to filter some background noise like a fan, fridge, etc but does nothing for loud sounds and human voice).
On itself, my headset doesn't cut out that much sound, but if I play some white noise or music I don't hear anything around me! Now I can even study while being in the same room as my boyfriend who's gaming loudly with his friends!
NB: the headset I have is a bit expensive, but there are some passive noise cancellation headphones on amazon for 35-50$
Well wireless speaker would have more functionality, potentially portable, and I've heard some pretty darn good ones. It's sort of taboo to even mention it, but the Bose soundlink Bluetooth speaker is darn impressive, imo. I don't have a whole lot of experience with sound bars, like at all. Always used 2 channel stereo setups, and I still do. Except I'm rocking 2.1 now. I'm sure you could find some decent sounding ones, and many have the benefit of having a powered subwoofer. Either way, definitely do some research beforehand. I got a pair of these lately for 50 bucks, and have been genuinely impressed, also https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KNPYAEY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
> Sennheiser game zero
I think I might be looking at the wrong pair but the reviews are saying there are two audio cables for this pair? Does it just connect directly into the adapter on the controller? Do you have a link to them on amazon? (I'm in Canada and see these... https://www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-Professional-Blocking-Headset-Multi-platform/dp/B00KNPYAEY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1542902456&sr=8-2&keywords=Sennheiser+game+zero)
Hello! I'm looking for a gaming headset that is open back. From a bit of research it looks like my only real option would be the Sennheiser Game One, aside from moving to a boom mic setup (which I'd like to avoid).
Does anyone have any experience with this particular headset? Any other suggestions for open back headsets are welcomed. It would need to have an integrated mic and be <$200CAD.
Get this set: Sennheiser GAME ZERO Gaming Headset, Closed Acoustic with Noise cancelling microphone, Foldable, Flip-to-mute, Ligthweight, Ear Pads, PC, Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Smartphone compatible https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KNPYAEY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_j.EeFb4CSQ4J4
Hey! Great guide this is exactly what I needed as I am in the market for a new headset. Couple of questions..
Is the G4ME ZERO essentially the Game One but without the open back?
How is the build quality of the Game One? Is the frame all built out of plastic? My turtle beach stealth 700Xs kept breaking and I had to 3D print replacement 'arms' that extend the headset bigger.
Does the mute mic when flipping it upwards work on Xbox One or just PC?
yes, so there are two cables included..one for pc and one for consoles..the one for consoles, you just plug them into the controller- Amazon US link. https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-Gaming-Headset-Black/dp/B00KNPYAEY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1542934757&sr=8-2&keywords=game+zero
I don't know much but a discord I'm in recommended these https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-Gaming-Headset-Black/dp/B00KNPYAEY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536153575&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=game+zero+sennheiser
>Razer Kraken headset
I havent heard too many good things about them, if you want a solid headset all around a lot will say cloud2s but I say get this, especially if you wear glasses, it doesnt put dents in your head.
my last headset did that too me, and I was at risk of getting a brain tumor (yeah super nice) because of it.
and depending on how you grip your mouse (dont claw, itll kill your hand over the years) you might like a Rival300 over the G402.
Sennheiser is truly a gift from God best audio quality and close to studio mic quality P.S also works with your console if you own one
Thanks dude, I've got a set of Game Zeros, and a JDS amp on my amazon "computer" list now! I'm excited, though it'll be a while before those things make it to the top of my priority list.
Two more questions:
1 - looks like the Zero has one 3.5mm jack for output, and one for input, how do you hook that in with the amp in the mix?
2 - How do you handle cable management? All the plugins are in the FRONT of the amp, so there's no hope of hiding any of the cables :/ I'd prefer to have all the plugs in the rear, so I could mount the face somewhere visible and accessible and have all the cables trail away behind my desk.
Edit: oh hey, the amazon listing is for the new game Zeros which are rated at 50 ohms rather than 150, so they don't need an amp to push them... I wonder if this impacts sound quality any.
Unfortunately they didn't make a separate amazon listing when they updated to the new Zeros, so most of these reviews are still for the old ones despite this listing now selling the new ones!
So I recently purchased this headset, from some of the reviews it says i need a fancy sound card and an amp, but those are all kinda old, is that still the case? Or should i be able to fully use this right out of the box?
Thanks for all the help you guys give!
I'm surprised no one's recommended these.

It's a gaming headphone based on HD598 drivers. So great sound and a solid mic. Can't go wrong.
For a closed back, there's the Game Zero which is $112 on Amazon right now. I do prefer open for games though since you get better positional sound.

If you are okay with buying internationally, this is highly recommended - https://drop.com/buy/drop-sennheiser-pc38x-gaming-headset
Otherwise I would recommend these - https://www.amazon.in/dp/B00KNPYAEY/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_C55MS729N6QTRBXNHQBB

Game ones are a good set.
I've had good luck with the Sennheiser Game Zero: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KNPYAEY?psc=1
I hesitate to call these "audiophile," but I've used them on many Zoom calls with my drum instructor. People frequently comment on my voice quality. There's a hard mute when the mic is folded up, which is nice. https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-Gaming-Headset-Black/dp/B00KNPYAEY
They also come closed-back so yes you can compare them
https://www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-Professional-Blocking-Headset-Multi-platform/dp/B00KNPYAEY/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Sennheiser+G4ME+ONE+closed&qid=1612983730&s=electronics&sr=1-4
Sennheiser PC37X is a really good headset but is a little over $100. Compared to other gaming headsets Sennheiser focuses on audio quality. No need for that 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. This is a great stereo gaming headset. Has some replaceable parts too. But it's not closed-back.
The Sennheiser Game Zero is what I recommend for you then. It's closed-back and sounds way better than other gaming headsets. But it's also past $100.
Also, consider checking out the Philips SHP9500 paired with a V-MODA BoomPro Mic. It's under $100. But it's open back.
just wondering is this the right headset? https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-Gaming-Headset-Black/dp/B00KNPYAEY
https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-Gaming-Headset-Black/dp/B00KNPYAEY
There is also another EPOS Sennheiser for around $75 on Amazon which is pretty good too.
I always reccomend sennheiser if you can afford it, even their cheap headphones are better than just about everything else on the market They even make a gaming headset now! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KNPYAEY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_fJPpFb677BXFV
thanks for your reply. any advice as to whether sennheiser gaming headset would work well for home studio purpose (guitar recording)? I should've mentioned im specifically looking for a headset with a built in mic that won't compromise the music recording playback purposes I've described

Sorry, I actually got the game zero closed back, that one is 50ohms
If you can't track down your mic I would highly recommend a (wired) headset. I've used these two headsets and can recommend them:
Turtle Beach - Ear Force PX22. I seen it has been superceded by the Turtle Beach Recon 200 but I have no idea on comfort or build quality on the latter.
Syba external USB Stereo Sound Adapter (Works on PS4!)
One option to consider might be the Sennheiser Game Zero or Game One models. Now normally I wouldn't recommend a "gaming headset" but since it is made my Sennsheiser the quality is apparently decent.
Brand/Model | Price | Open/Closed & Misc. notes |
---|---|---|
Sennheiser GAME Zero | $129 | closed -- lays flat, comes with case! |
Sennheiser GAME One | $114 | open -- apparently this is on par with the HD 598? |
The Game Zero collapses -- I don't believe the Game One does.
Another popular idea is Antlion Audio ModMic for $50. It has two bases and the microphone has a magnetic clip on.
The Senns Game series comes in both open and closed versions!

I have a Senns Game Zero and HD 598 SR arriving next week. Will be A/B'ing them to my HD 380 Pros.
10/10 headset, true german engineering.
Wireless headsets won't give you as good sound quality or comfort as a good wired set. Batteries add weight and limit peak power to the drivers.
https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-Gaming-Headset-Black/dp/B00KNPYAEY
If you want a pair of headphones for gaming get those. The driver and microphone quality are excellent.
https://www.amazon.com/FiiO-E10K-Headphone-Amplifier-Black/dp/B00LP3AMC2
Get that DAC + headphone amplifier if you a slight boost to sound quality. The amplifier portion isn't really needed for 50 ohm headphones unless your motherboard has a bad audio chipset.
Are these on par?
Sennheiser GAME ZERO PC Gaming Headphone - Black
or
Sennheiser GAME ONE PC Gaming Headset - Black
It seems like the ONEs rest on the ear while the ZEROs surround them, is that the major difference?

I got Sennheiser Game Zero last friday, no regrets and amazing sound.

Hello,
I'm relatively new in regards to PC audio and am looking to upgrade my existing setup. I'm currently using the onboard audio on my Asus Maximus Hero VII. I'm looking for a new PC headset, sound card, and have been looking into DAC/Amp setups but am completely ignorant in that regard. What I've been looking at so far:
Budget - A maximum of ~$600 but I'm relatively flexible depending on the quality of the setup.
Source - Desktop PC.
Requirements for Isolation - Not too picky as they're used at home, but the more isolation the better for a more immersive experience.
Preferred Type of Headphone - Full-sized over-ears.
Preferred tonal balance - Balanced bass that's strong but not overbearing on the small technicalities that electronic music projects. Primary concern here though is gaming, so something that deals with positional audio well.
Past headphones - Currently using Astro A40 wired with the MixAmp.
Preferred Music - I primarily listen to Drum and Bass along with other electronic music (jungle, progressive house, trance, etc).
What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Overall better sound quality that can handle positional audio extremely well from a gaming standpoint as well as deal with drum and bass music.
Location - USA.
If anyone has any input on my selection it would be greatly appreciated.
^That's ^why ^I'm ^here, ^I ^don't ^judge ^you. ^PM ^/u/xl0 ^if ^I'm ^causing ^any ^trouble. ^WUT?
Look into these perhaps! Its also on sale!

OR no mic but MUCH better quality: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx
I was talking about gaming headsets. There's the Sennheiser G4ME Zero and Audio Technica ATHADG1, both of which are quite good and quite pointless at those price points.
