Holy shit, they fucking released an Android port?
Looks like it's available only through Amazon (made for Fire TV with a game pad). The product page says it's Treasure Trove, and the description includes all 3 campaigns so I'd say yes it does.

Well, I just learned it's apparently on the Amazon App Store. It must be made for Fire TV type devices that require a controller anyway.
So in theory you could sideload the game, but I have a feeling that controller is going to be the only option unless someone else knows how to add touchscreen buttons to it.
Thanks for the answer and I apologize for the negative post. I was confused because the Amazon page still lists it as version 1.01 with no updates.

Anyway, thanks for the support.
> But just because a game isn't on the playstore doesn't mean it's not officially released?
Okay, I'll bite. I said it's not officially released on Android because the developers haven't released it on Android. "Officially released" means the developers have made available their software on a platform which you can pay money for a version of their software to run on that platform. The only official looking link I found when doing a search for "shovel knight for android" was from Amazon for the Fire TV. While sideloading a Fire app to a non-Amazon device means that yes, you can run Shovel Knight on an Android phone, that doesn't mean it's been officially released for Android. It's been officially released on a proprietary Android-based platform and you're jamming it into whatever phone you have.
Do you have a link for a version of Shovel Knight that will run natively on your non-Amazon Fire based Android device? Because if not, you don't have an officially licensed copy of Shovel Knight on Android. Honestly, how had you planned on playing it on your phone? Walk me through it.
For Android if it's available officially, but it's not in the play store, it's in the Amazon app store. The problem with the mobile version is that you can only play with a gamepad. And if you are a root user you can install an app that allows you to play it in a tactile way.
I leave the link here:
https://www.amazon.com/Yacht-Club-Games-Shovel-Knight/dp/B014IEGCKU
Shovel Knight is available on the Amazon Appstore, but only for Fire TV devices. You'd have to buy the app, then log into a Fire TV device and use adb to pull the APK. It works fine on standard Android devices, but there's no touch controls so you'd have to use a Bluetooth controller.

As for Celeste, it uses FNA which is open source, so it's possible for someone to port FNA to Android and have Celeste run inside that. I'm not aware of any such ports though.
In the meantime you could download the original PICO-8 version of Celeste and run that version inside any of the PICO-8 players available for Android.
Ok I'll link some indie games that are pretty challenging and all have controller support. Some like Dash Kings are diabolically hard.
Shovel Knight https://www.amazon.com/Yacht-Club-Games-Shovel-Knight/dp/B014IEGCKU
Linkme: Dash Kings, Not to Fall TV, Pocket Rogues, Warrior Heart, Fractal Space, Nimble Quest, Celeritas, ZKW Reborn, Meganoid 2, bitDungeon II
Good idea! And if not, it's available in every system for about $15 (except for iOS, Android, Xbox 360 and perhaps Mac/Linux if I recall correctly).
EDIT: there is an Android port... but only on the Amazon's app store
ANOTHER EDIT: Sorry there, Mac and Linux do work nicely with Shovel Knight... one less reason to reboot into Windows I guess?
Also discounted on GOG, Humble Store, Microsoft Store, PS Store, Nintendo eShop and Amazon Appstore.
Here's a few random ones that I can think of off the top of my head.
PC game ports:
Source ports (requires data from PC versions):
Delta Touch and Quad Touch (source ports of Doom 1/2 and Quake 1/2/3)
OpenMicroWave (port of The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind)
Shield-exclusives:
Nvidia Lightspeed Studios (ports of Half-Life 2, Portal, Tomb Raider, Doom 3 BFG Edition, etc)
Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel
Fire TV exclusives:
It's on Amazon Store
https://www.amazon.com/Yacht-Club-Games-Shovel-Knight/dp/B014IEGCKU
Shovel knight android port is controller only however. No touch controls, and probably only works on one screen
It's sold on amazon https://www.amazon.ca/Yacht-Club-Games-Shovel-Knight/dp/B014IEGCKU?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_dls
Just as a heads up, game works on Android devices with Bluetooth controllers (HID) as well if you sideload it. You can buy the Amazon Fire TV version here: https://www.amazon.com/Yacht-Club-Games-Shovel-Knight/dp/B014IEGCKU
Amazon actually posts permission requirements on its page, so it seems this is normal? https://i.imgur.com/kO2ZlbA.png

I have been using the Amazon app since basically the day it started and have hundreds of games on my Amazon account, they used to give away tons of games and apps all the time, and also Amazon coins, even before they did the Amazon underground free stuff..... I have the Amazon app on my phone and have on every phone since they started allowing you to do so, but all this in no way has anything to do with the opening post. I said in my original post I have some games pulled from a Kindle 7" working on my phone, but I needed the kindle 7" to get them in the first place.
You can buy the games I still want via your web browser, but how do you get to install these games that require you to have a compatible Amazon branded device to get the install files, without having an Amazon branded device ? This is the issue, and nothing you have said so far resolves it. The only way I have seen this done is via a plugin in your browser that allowed you to pull the apk from the Amazon server once you had logged into your account as it tricked the Appstore into thinking it was being requested by an valid device, but I believe that no longer works.

The Amazon app on your phone will not show these games, so you cant buy them via it, unless you are running the app on a compatible Amazon device:-

Some of the best games for Android TV are ports of old PC or console games, which include titles from Rockstar Games (https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=7086639890153802127&hl=en_US) and SQUARE ENIX (https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=8026010256970589886&hl=en_US). Some of their games do not show up in Android TV app store but actually works fine with controller when sideloaded, like Max Payne and GTA III. Telltale games are also great but many of them were de-listed. Some were later re-listed by new publishers:
A few more Android ports of old PC games with controller support (title marked with * needs to be sideloaded):
Star Wars: KOTOR: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aspyr.swkotor&hl=en_US
The Bard's Tale: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inxile.BardTale&hl=en_US

And here is one of the best horror games on Android that's surprisingly NOT a port from PC or console:
Forgotten Memories*: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.psychoseinteractive.forgottenmemories&hl=en_US
There are also ports of excellent indie titles from console that work well on Android TV. However, many of them require sideload. Here are a few with good controller support:

Some of them require OpenGL ES 3.x support and won't work on every Android TV device. Check what version of OpenGL ES your GPU supports with AIDA64.

Maldita Castilla (freeware): a great "Ghosts'n Goblins"-style platformer originally released as OUYA exclusive title. It was later made free by its developer and can be played on Android TV with controller.
Download and sideload its apk for OUYA at the bottom of this page: https://www.locomalito.com/maldita_castilla.php
Also worth mentioning is although Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is Fire TV exclusive (https://www.amazon.com/Yacht-Club-Games-Shovel-Knight/dp/B014IEGCKU), it does work on Android TV if you export and sideload its apk from compatible Fire TV devices.
Shovel Knight but its only found on the amazon app store and needs a controller to play.
https://www.amazon.com/Yacht-Club-Games-Shovel-Knight/dp/B014IEGCKU
I get your point.
Shovel Knight, does have a port though. However, it's exclusive to Amazon Store and only supports gamepad.
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is on Android but it requires a controller to play. Its only found on the Amazon app store.
Because it is not on the playstore, it is on the Amazon store: https://www.amazon.com/Yacht-Club-Games-Shovel-Knight/dp/B014IEGCKU
But it is a firetv exclusive that's why you need to sideload it.
Yes, it is available for Android, but not on Play Store, it only works with a gamepad through, you can get it from Amazon App Store, if you have a rooted phone you can check this video on how to play it with touch controls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27j4yveqjB4&t=16s.
