The monitor gets power from the driver board, and the driver board gets power from a micro USB to USB cord, which plugs into the motherboard's USB pins via a pins-to-USB adapter.

I just did a tiny bit of research. TrueNAS installs to an actual drive in your computer, so your 120 GB SSD would be perfect for that.
For Unraid, I ended up buying a Sandisk Cruzer Fit and it just lives on the back of my motherboard. You could also get something like this that would just connect to your motherboard's USB header. You'd probably forfeit the front USB 2 ports in your case though.
interntal would use something like this. some server boards have a A slot already.
I use a Samsung drive attached to one of these guys straight into my mobo for cooling since I’ve got front to back cooling. Haven’t had a problem since I first installed Unraid back in 2019. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0878S6BD5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_RYBBE06CHYVYM8YQQ1SH
FYI, you can buy an internal USB header for just a few bucks and mount the drive inside the case if you are scared of this. Here's an example item.
I had an old USB 2.0 header cable laying around and use it in my build.
Are you just wanting to use a usb device inside your case? I’m not totally clear on what you’re asking. If that’s all you need, this would help.

I use this one.

It’s the Rosewill 12 Bay hit swap case. It ran little warm and does not have a fan wall like the other cases. I added two 120mm fans where the fan wall should be and now my temps stay in the mid 40s to mid 50s with two GPU’s in the system.
Also grab something like this for your boot drive.
I’d say these are great rack mount cases for the money that can fit any hardware you want.
Or a spare USB header. Can get internal ports that plug in to the header.
