Got this platform Zinus 2000 from Amazon, was convenient because I could have it shipped right to my door at my new place when I moved.
Really easy to put together by yourself, is low to the ground but I still easily have room underneath to store my duffel bags, extra comforters, boxes, etc. Only had it for a month but support has held up great so far, although in the future I may consider adding a couple extra boards and reducing the gap between the boards given.
And yes this setup is the first time in my life I haven't been greeted by loud box spring squeaks whenever SO is visiting
I love my Brooklyn Bed Hybrid Signature in a medium. It's a bit of money, but they regularly have sales and their post sale support has been absolutely phenomenal. The bed should be like $700, give or take, with sales.
If you go that route, don't buy their platforms, they're shit. Buy this if you don't need a headboard. I love it.
I decided to upgrade my bed frame since I have a nice new mattress. This since I don't need a headboard. Reviews for this one in particular are glowing, and there are no major complaints about it.
I can't wait to get it!
I'd just bit the bullet and get this steel frame - it's build like a tank and will last you a very long time.
A bed frame held together with wood screws just isn't going to hold up in the long run unless you drastically overbuild it.
That's my thought, too. Memory foam mattresses (like Caspers) need flat surfaces (i.e. those slats).
I too bought a frame and have enjoyed it so far. I don't really know how to rate these things but it feels very sturdy, not too hard to put together on my own, pretty low profile clean black look, gives solid support in middle of bed with no box springs, and has decent enough space underneath it to put suitcases, blankets, etc. Link below, for the price it's well worth it but obviously not meant for a designer bedroom.
was this the frame you bought?

I actually did look at this bed, but was worried that several reviews talked about how noisy it was.
I decided to treat myself with a Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid paired with a platform for it. I'm very happy.
