Sure! I got mine on Amazon for $14.99.
I don't know if I would pull it out in a restaurant... but then again, maybe I would. It would be nice to know the weight of a dinner roll or some other item. I might be too self-conscious to do that, though.
It's the SmartWeigh Zip600. Got mine from Amazon (easy link). It's pretty tiny for a scale, and is perfect for quick weight checks on fast food or a million other "my bigger scale is at home" moments!
I bought this scale on Amazon. You either need a 500g weight to calibrate (but they're stupid expensive), or if you've got a big scale, I just weighed a water bottle to 500g and used that to test the calibration instead ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just a heads up, there are mini kitchen scales. I got this one for Christmas and got a peek at it before it got wrapped and its pretty neat. It fits in a medium to large sized purse fairly easily.
So you can leave your big one at home and take a mini to work.
This is the one I got. It's pretty small, but it works well for me at work because usually I use very small clear plastic plates for food items I nab. Or I can transfer items back and forth to a smaller plate while I weight things.
I also like it because I can just take it with me when I travel!
I have this one also, but in Key Lime Green. I like it a lot. I also have a pocket sized scale for when I eat out. Most people think it is a phone then get confused when I put food on it.
I saw this one on Amazon, looks pocket sized. https://smile.amazon.com/Smart-Weigh-ZIP600-Digital-Counting/dp/B00GTX3LAI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1509034791&sr=8-4&keywords=small+food+scale
they already exist... I've had this one for years, smaller than my phone and a deck of cards, full scale functions including the ability to tare as well as measure to .1grams
Where can I get a portable digital scale?
EDIT: I found this Ultra Slim Digital Pocket Scale, sick.
How about this one ? https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00GTX3LAI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_p1B4Cb938XYD4
